First held in 1978, the Galway Arts Festival has grown into one of the biggest arts festivals in Ireland. Attracting local, national and international artists, the festival features parades, street performances and plays, musical concerts and comedy acts.
30th July - 5th August 2018: Galway Races
Held at Ballybrit Racecourse over seven days, this is one of Ireland's longest race meets. You can bet on horses based on a complex study of their recent form, ground conditions and jockey... or simply pick the one with the best name.
28th September- 30th September 2018: Galway Oyster Festival
Best known for the World Oyster Opening Championships, the festival is a great way to try the legendary local seafood while enjoying a festive atmosphere.
