February 2019 (TBC): Chinatown Spring Festival Parade
Discover China in Vancouver during this cultural festival celebrating the new year of the Chinese lunar calendar. It is a fun-filled event for everyone to enjoy where the main attraction are the colourful dragons. A large number of Chinese gather to see lion dances, marching bands, martial arts performances and people in costumes marching down the street.

17th March 2019: Celtic Festival and Parade
The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the largest free francophone Celtic festival in North America, drawing people from all cultures, backgrounds, ages and all walks of life to downtown Vancouver. Both parade participants and parade-goers contribute to this fun, colorful (green) and fabulous experience of sight and sound. At the parade, everyone gets in touch with their inner Celt!

14th April 2019: SunRun
A 10-kilometre road running event which is one of Canada’s largest 10 Km road races since its inception in 1985. This event promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages and attracts thousands of runners to the streets of Vancouver.

5th June – 21st September 2019: Bard on the Beach
A festival dedicated to William Shakespeare, Bard on the Beach started in 1990. Since then, it has grown to become one of Canada's largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare Festivals. A series of tents are erected for the performances and various workshops that run alongside performances of  Shakespeare’s plays.

21st June - 23rd June 2019: International Dragon Boat Festival
Beginning on Thursday afternoon with the colourful Eye-dotting Ceremony and evening opening concert, the festival continues with two more days of non-stop entertainment on the World Beat Stage: fabulous food, children’s activities, art installations, the Interactive Circus performances, shopping, and of course, dragon boat racing of the highest caliber.

21st June -  1st July 2019: Vancouver International Jazz Festival
The annual jazz festival includes 400 individual performances, including 130 free concerts, drawing 460,000 visitors each year. There is more than just jazz on offer, with funk, latino and fusion music making up the bill.

1st July 2019: Canada Day Parade
This award winning event, presented by the Port of Vancouver, is the largest Canada Day celebration outside the capital, Ottawa. Canada Day at Canada Place brings communities together to share their special bond of living in one of the greatest countries in the world and celebrating their freedom, values and diversity. With the popular daytime festival, the evening parade and the simultaneous two spectacular fireworks, Canada Day at Canada Place is the best way to celebrate the nation’s birthday!

27th July – 3rd August 2019: Celebration of Light firework displays
Each year, three countries are invited to put on fireworks displays set to music. Alongside the spectacular explosions above English Bay, a whole array of cultural, sporting and musical activities under the banner “SHOREfest” run on the days of the displays. Who will be the next winner?

4th August 2019: Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival
The Pride Parade and Festival is a celebration of diversity and isn’t just for the LGBT community. Parties, cruises, a parade and a huge final event make Vancouver Pride a superb event for visitors and locals alike. 

August - September 2019: The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE)
This has been one of Vancouver’s annual traditions for over 100 years. This non-profit organisation hosts an 17-day summer fair in Playland amusement park, which adds additional rides, live entertainment and food stalls for the occasion! 

5th September - 15th September 2019: Vancouver International Fringe Festival
The Vancouver Fringe Festival brings together all kinds of performers from British Colombia and beyond in a weird and wonderful assortment of theatrical entertainment. The festival has no jury and the acts that get to perform are chosen by lottery, so you really don’t know what you are going to get!

December 2019 (TBC): Santa Claus Parade
This festive event, including many local organizations and businesses, is the largest Christmas parade celebrated in Western Canada and is considered a kick-off to the holiday season.

December 2019: Festival of Lights
More than a million lights will decorate VanDusen Botanical Garden in an annual tradition that is simply beautiful in the crisp winter air.
