15th February - 25th February 2018: Berlinale
The public programme of the Berlin International Film Festival shows about 400 films per year, mostly international or European premieres. Films of every genre, length and format find their place in the various categories.
18th May – 21st May 2018: Berlin Karneval der Kulturen
The Carnival of Cultures presents the cultural and ethnic diversity of Berlin. Take to the streets and celebrate!
3rd July - 7th July 2018: Berlin Fashion Week
As a magnet for the young and arty, Berlin is hip all year round, but especially so during Fashion week. There is also one in January (17th – 20th)
28th July 2018: Christopher Street Day
The Berlin LGBT community’s annual street party was originally held in memory of the Stonewall Riots in New York. Now, although there is still a political message, the emphasis is on having fun.
18th August 2018: Lange Nacht der Museen
Twice a year, around 100 of Berlin’s finest museums keep their doors open late into the night for the “Long Night of the Museums”. You can buy a single ticket that covers entry to all of the museums and public transport between them. (lange-nacht-der-museen.de
Late-November until Christmas 2018: Christmas Markets
When the cold winter nights set in, there is nothing like a steaming mug of Glühwein to warm the spirits. Christmas markets (Weihnachtsmarkten
) spring up across the city, including Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, Breitscheidplatz and Charlottenburg.
