Valencia has plenty of modern, air-conditioned shopping centres where shopaholics can browse all the major international clothing stores plus Spanish brands like Desigual, Mango and Zara, where you’ll find much lower prices than abroad. El Saler is one, right across from the City of Arts and Sciences, and Nuevo Centro is another solid option on the other side of the city.
Collectors can head to the Lladró Factory, where the famous porcelain figurines are made, for a free behind-the-scenes tour and a visit to its outlet.
The hipster set will love the monthly Palo Alto Market
in the Real o Viveros gardens with food trucks, DJ’s and stalls selling clothing and jewellery. For a real local experience, check out the Rastro de Mestalla, an eclectic Sunday flea market held in the parking lot of the Mestalla football stadium.
