I stayed at the EC school in Cambridge, which is a really good school. Located in a brand new building, the classrooms are all equipped with multimedia boards and a presenter. The lessons are playful and interesting, they will definitely allow you to make progress in English. Moreover, the welcoming staff as well as the teachers are really nice and will do everything to help you if you are facing any kind of problem. Which is really good. I was won over by this work method, which allows you to participate with all the students and even the teachers. There is a very good atmosphere in the classroom, which allows you to connect with the other students. This method allows you to make progress in the way you express yourself in English, in your understanding but also in your writing. I personally think I made progress in all these areas.

I am also very satisfied with the organization of ESL and with the staff who knows how to listen to you and does whatever is necessary to answer all your questions.

I personally loved my stay.

I only have one thing to say, thanks for this beautiful experience!

I stayed in EC Cambridge two and a half months and I wish I could stay much longer. I would recommend this school because everybody here is really nice. The staff members are happy to help you if you need and the teachers are really kind. Every six weeks we have a test which helps you to see how much you’ve improved your skills and if your results are good you can change class and go to a higher level. It’s really useful if you decided to stay a long time. General classes are really interesting but what I preferred was intensive class because the teacher I had is the best in the school!

Some people would say that Cambridge is a bit dull but if you know where to go you can have fun. I spent some Tuesday evenings at the Tenpin Bowling and that was the best choice I’ve ever made. The rest of the city is full of nice pubs like the Eagle or the Regal.

I lived in a host family which was not so far from school and that was really convenient. I met so many wonderful people here, it was really awesome, the best experience of my life.

Thank you so much, EC Cambridge!

I am very happy with my stay here in Cambridge. The school staff is welcoming and the teachers very competent. As for the city, it has much to offer in terms of restaurants, museums and shops of all kinds. There is always something to discover. I must say, I was very lucky to end up in such a wonderful host family. And since I am so happy in Cambridge, I have decided to stay until mid June, and will then take the Proficiency test.

EC Cambridge has been for me an unforgettable experience, the friendly and familiar relation with the students, teachers and staff made it possible. There are a lot of programmed activities every week, so that you can meet people from different countries and visit the city of Cambridge, small but wonderful. Also, if you stay with a host family, you will enjoy the English culture. I really would like to come back – one month is not enough!

As I wanted to learn English once and for all, I loved the idea of combining my studies in two different countries. I started with 3 months in Malta, from January to March, and then 3 months in Cambridge, ready for spring! ESL offered the return flights Malta-UK, so I had the opportunity to see Malta again at the end of my stay, with the head full of memories and a full address book!

Spending 8 weeks in Cambridge is an incredible and unforgettable experience. The location of the EC school was just perfect. Right in the centre of the town, next to the shopping centre and to Market Square. At lunchtime, I would visit the market and taste some local specialties together with my friends from all over the world.

The teachers were extremely friendly and spent a lot of time with the students, even after classes. For instance, they often took part in the weekly football match in the park or went for a drink with the students.

The various leisure activities too leave no room for boredom: punting on the river Cam, visit of the colleges or of St Mary’s Tower, weekly outings to see musicals, or else weekend excursions to other English and Scottish cities! And of course, you will also enjoy the town of Cambridge, which is simply beautiful, with its narrow streets, its colleges and its numerous parks.

The EC school is a big family, which makes for a wonderful experience!

Punting, King’s College, Great St Mary’s – this is Cambridge. The central library in the shopping centre, the pub The Eagle, the place where DNA was discovered and many English schools – this is Cambridge too.

The renowned English university town, located 80 km to the north east of London and of the same size as Bern, is not famous for its parties, but rather for its teaching tradition. The EC school where I studied English is located in the town centre, right next to the venerable marketplace and the recently inaugurated Grand Arcade commercial centre. If you don’t want to give up parties, even though your course schedule is quite busy, you are welcome to visit the town’s numerous pubs, nightclubs and student houses. Despite the peaceful atmosphere of the place, you can have fun everywhere – because where there are students, there are parties!
