26th January 2019: Chinese New Year
The Chinatown in Liverpool arranges a series of arts and cultural events that include a street market with traditional Chinese food, a firecracker display, lantern-making workshops, street animations and tai chi demonstrations.
6 April 2019: Grand National
Britain’s most famous horse race is held annually at Aintree. The event is known not only for the racing, but the incredible hats, dresses and high heels worn by the visitors.

20th April - 22nd April 2019: Food, Drink & Lifestyle Festival
Foodies won’t be disappointed! Taking place in Sefton Park, this festival celebrates the coming of spring by offering a great choice of food and drink stalls, as well as a lifestyle area with local arts & crafts.

3rd May – 5th May 2019: Liverpool Sound City
Presenting over 360 artists in 25 venues across the city, Liverpool Sound City is one of the largest cultural festivals in the UK. Live music, exhibitions, showcases and much more make this an exciting time to be in Liverpool.

22nd June – 23rd June 2019: Africa Oyé
The largest free African music event in the UK takes over Sefton Park for a weekend in June. Acts from all over Africa bring a different rhythm to a city of music.

20th July – 21st July 2019: Liverpool International Music Festival
This is the reincarnation of the Liverpool Mathew Street Music Festival, which became a victim of its own success after twenty years of attracting revellers to the city centre. The new festival includes performances by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in Sefton Park, live music stages across the city and loads of musical events for all tastes. 

27th July – 28th July 2019: Pride
The big, international LGBT festival culminates with a legendary march through the city, from St Georges Plateau to the main stage at the Pier Head. Expect bright colours and outrageous outfits.

21st August – 27th August 2019: International Beatle Week
Bands from over 20 countries and fans from over 40 come to Liverpool to celebrate the city’s most famous sons. As well as live gigs, there are exhibitions, memorabilia sales, guest speakers, video shows, sightseeing tours and a convention.

7th September – 8th September 2019: Pirates on The Dock
During this amazing weekend in September, you’ll see cannon battles on real pirate ships in the water off of Albert Dock, hear “pirate pop” music, find plenty of food stalls and see the pirate and mermaid parade. If you ever wanted to dress up like a pirate, this is your excuse!
