Canadians are famous for being kind and welcoming, so by staying with a local family, you'll find your home away from home. Host families live in comfortable and safe residential areas, generally 40-60 minutes away from the school by public transport. You may book this accommodation with or without meals (in this case, you can still use the family’s kitchen). Experience full immersion by living with Canadians – you may even make new friends for life.
GEC Viva Tower residence (for ages over 18)
Apart from a beautiful view over the city and the Pacific Ocean, this residence offers self-catering apartments with twin or single rooms. It's just a 15-minute walk from the school and steps away from Davie Street, where you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants. Each apartment has 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the building. Towels and bed linen are included, there are free laundry facilities and the common areas are cleaned once per week. The residence also has a gym and a sauna for you to relax during your free time.
Make the most of your stay thanks to the school’s activity programme. If you enjoy spending time outdoors, you’ll want to join the bike tour around Stanley Park, spend the afternoons kayaking and skim boarding in the ocean or go on trips to Grouse Mountain or the Capilano suspension bridge. The weekend trips will allow you to explore other interesting locations in the area: the Rocky Mountains, Whistler ski resort or even Seattle and Portland in the USA!
