LAL Cape Town

Our partner school LAL is established in Cape Town since 1993. Since 2007, it occupies a large building which is very well-located at the heart of the fashionable district, Sea Point which is only a few minutes by car (or by taxi) from the city centre. The famous Cape Town beaches, Clifton and Camps Bay can be found around 15 minutes' walk away from the school! In the new LAL Cape Town premises, students enjoy a very comfortable environment and numerous modern infrastructures for learning. With more than 30 classrooms, the school also includes a TV lounge, free WiFI internet access, an area for games and relaxing with billiards tables, a bar, a swimming pool as well as a garden which is ideal for barbecues...so many opportunities to make friends and to speak English after class! Finally, LAL Cape Town will gladly assist you in your South African adventures: in the activities office, you will be able to reserve all of your excursions, hire a car and get advice.

Accomodation

Host family
The host families live relatively close to the centre, about 30 minutes away by public transport. They have been carefully selected and are regularly checked by our partner school in order to ensure that student enjoy a high level of comfort and share the daily life of the locals, their customs and of course their language. In fact, living with a host family is undoubtedly the best form of accommodation for improving your language skills in conjunction with your lessons. Students stay in single rooms with breakfast and dinner provided daily. 
Residence
This is the most popular form of accommodation. Our partner school offers two residences, located a few minutes on foot from each other. Established between the suburbs of Green Point and Three Anchor Bay, these residences are close to the school, beaches, restaurants and shops. Single or double (only for couples) rooms are available. The rooms are cleaned each day from Monday to Friday, and the linen is changed once a week. Breakfast is served everyday. There is a television in the student lounge. You will also find a garden, BBQ area, games room and swimming pool.

Leisure

The school offers leisure activities in the form of a weekly program that emphasises sports, social life within the school and cultural events. In addition to numerous excursions – for example to Boulder Beach, Hermanus (the whale watching route) or Robben Island – sports are a priority in Cape Town: golf, surfing, horse riding, tennis, diving, bungee jumping… In the evening, after making the most of the beach, you can taste the local Chardonnay with your friends or enjoy the unique sounds of traditional music in the heart of Africa.
