Our partner school is located in the centre of Berkeley, just moments from the University and close to the main train and bus routes. The school has 9 classrooms, a library, 2 computer rooms with free Internet access and 3 WiFi areas where you can connect to the Internet with a laptop computer. The outdoor and indoor common areas will allow you to relax between classes and chat with your new friends over a coffee. Around the school, you will find Berkeley’s artistic district with its numerous theatres, jazz clubs, cafés and restaurants; the heart of San Francisco is just 25 minutes away by train (BART).

Accomodation

Host family
Being continuously immersed in the culture of a country is the best way to learn the language. Staying with a Californian family means sharing the lifestyle of a new culture on a daily basis, and is an unforgettable experience. The families are chosen with care, know the school well and are located about 30-45 minutes from the course centre. Students stay in individual bedrooms and half-board is provided.
Residence
For more independent students, our partner school offers accommodation in the “Tau House” residence, two blocks away from the main campus. Accommodation is in single, double or triple rooms, with a shared bathroom and 18 meals provided per week. You can enjoy billiards, table tennis, a television room and basketball court with the other international and American students, or sunbathe on the large balconies.

Leisure

The school gives students the opportunity to participate in a range of activities and outings, some free or at reduced prices, both during the week and on weekends. The number of options is impressive: basketball or volleyball games, shopping in San Francisco’s Union Square, BBQ’s on the Berkeley marina, swimming in Lake Anza or wine tasting in the Napa Valley… Weekend excursions are also possible, for example to the Yosemite National Park, Disneyland, LA or Las Vegas. You won’t have time to get bored! Sports fans are sure to have plenty to cheer about, with teams like the 49ers in American football, or the baseball “Giants”.
