Accommodation

Host family
Accommodation in one of the host families selected with care by our partner school, EC, in San Francisco, is the ideal solution for full immersion in the American way of life. You will be able to discover the American culture and share your experiences with your hosts. All of the host families are situated 30-50 minutes away from the school by public transport and propose accommodation in a single or double room to you. You will benefit from half board.

Spaulding Residence
The residence offered by our EC partner school in San Francisco combines comfort and convenience in the heart of the prestigious Union Square neighbourhood, some 10 minutes’ walk from the course centre. Located in a historical building with 24h/24 surveillance, the residence provides single or double rooms with private bathrooms and all the necessary comfort: desk, TV, high speed Internet access, refrigerator, bed linen and towels. You will share the fully equipped kitchen and the laundry facilities with the other residents. In the common living room, you can meet up with the other students to have a chat or surf the Internet on the computers available there. There is a weekly housekeeping service. Thanks to the central location of the residence, you will be steps from the GoldenGate University and from San Francisco’s best shops and restaurants.

The Herbert Residence
Located in the heart of the city and close to the Spaulding residence, this residence is perfect for more independent students, who will stay in a comfortable, entirely renovated single room with private bathroom. In your room, you will have the use of cable TV, Wireless Internet access, and dishes and silverware. The lounge area and laundry facilities are available to all of the residents. You can use the fully equipped kitchen of the Spaulding residence to prepare your meals. Towels and bed linen are provided and the residence is cleaned on a weekly basis. 10 minutes from the school only, you will be surrounded by San Francisco’s greatest attractions, including the Museum of Modern Art.

The Sheldon Hotel Residence
This last residence is also located 10 minutes’ walk from the school, in the very heart of San Francisco and close to theatres, restaurants, shops and art galleries. Its newly renovated single rooms include a private bathroom, a flat screen TV, Wi-Fi Internet access, a refrigerator and a ceiling fan. The students can go to one of the launderettes located nearby to do their laundry. All residents can make use of the kitchenette, which includes a microwave oven, a refrigerator and a sink. The rooms are cleaned weekly and bedlinen and towels will be provided on-site.

Leisure

Every week, our partner school in San Francisco prepares a programme of the most diverse activities. A visit to the mythical prison of Alcatraz, walks in the city centre, kayaking in the bay, or even sport in the Golden Gate Park are amongst the possibilities in this multicultural city. Shopping fans will be able to treat themselves in Union Square. For a bit of relaxation, there's nothing like a sunbathing session on the beach. In the evenings, you will be able to dine with the other students in the Pier 39 district, famous for its restaurants and bars, or go to listen to a concert in the Golden Gate Park. Excursions will also be proposed to Lake Tahoe in the winter or to Yosemite National Park, to Santa Cruz, and to Los Angeles.
