Language school Nice, Alpha-B

Our partner school in Nice is located at the heart of the capital of the French Riviera, just a stone's throw away from the shops, beach and the old town. The language school occupies a former hotel in the “Belle Epoque” style that has recently been completely renovated. With 16 classrooms, this school offers you modern facilities, free Internet access as well as a WiFi zone and a library. During breaks or after classes, you can go out and enjoy the garden which is ideal for relaxing. In order to be able to welcome all its students whilst keeping reasonable class sizes, from July to September Alpha B opens a second language school centre with 12 classrooms and identical facilities, which is close to the language school building.

Host family
This is the ideal option for total immersion in the French language and culture. The families are selected by the school and live around 20-30 minutes by public transport away from the language school building. Students stay in a single room and have half board provided. In addition, your host family will provide you with bedlinen and bath towels and will come to collect you when you arrive at the airport.

Shared apartment
This option proposes sharing an apartment with one or several people from Nice itself. Living around 20-30 minutes away from the school, you will stay in a single or double room and will share the common rooms of the apartment. You are free to prepare your own meals, either on your own or with your flatmate(s). Please note that you will need to bring your own bath towels. Staying with a French host is a flexible and convivial acccommodation option.

Studio
The school offers some studios in the city in order to allow you to be totally independent where you are living. The studios, of a surface area of approx. 25-30m2, are for private use and can accommodate from one to three people (couples, friends, families). They are all equipped with a kitchen with utensils, a bathroom, a TV and a radio. Please note that you will have to bring your own bath towels. Prices on request.

Residence “Montebello” (from 18 years) (available from 04.07-28.08)
This accommodation option is proposed during the summer to students over 18 years of age. During the rest of the year, the residence is used by students of the Faculté des Sciences. It is situated ten minutes by bus away from the main language school building and is surrounded by a magnificent garden. You will stay in a single room with a private bathroom and breakfast is included. Please note that you will have to bring your own bath towels. The arrival at the residence must imperitavely take place on a Sunday and the departure on a Saturday.

Located by the sea and not far from the mountains, Nice offers many outdoor activities such as rafting, canyoning, horse riding and even skiing. Alpha B offers beginners courses in sailing from June to September and deep-sea diving from May to October. Add to this the nights out at discos and concerts, and the activities organised by the cultural association Lingua Franca: French film screenings, guided tours of museums, accompanied excursions with commentary, participation in different festivals and cultural activities on the French Riviera.
