School
Founded in 1952, Colón Language Center is one of the longest established schools in Germany today. Its three buildings, located in a pedestrian area at the heart of the city, house some 50 teachers and 600 students, from both around the world and from Germany itself, as the institution is also a recognised centre for continuing education. This range of cultures reflects the ethnic diversity that Hamburg is known for. Our partner school has developed its own teaching manual, and uses numerous interactive resources to help you learn German. Students with their own laptops can benefit from the WiFi connection in the school.

Host families are all chosen with care by our partner school, and live in the city’s residential districts, around 20-45 minutes away from the school by public transport. Students stay in a single room as well as having the choice of having half board, breakfast only or free use of the kitchen included. This is the best opportunity to optimise the learning of the language whilst discovering the local way of life.

You share an apartment, which is situated in the school building Colonnaden 47 where most of the classrooms are located. The accommodation is in a single or double room.
