Japanese school in Tokyo: ISI Language School

School
Our partner school is situated at the heart of an extremely lively and cosmopolitan district to the west of Tokyo - Shinjuku. Exclusive cafés, inexpensive shops, cabarets, restaurants, amusement arcades, bars and nightclubs abound. The young people of Tokyo particularly enjoy meeting up to spend the evening in Shinjuku. The language school building has bright and spacious classrooms, a common room and an Internet zone for students' use. A few minutes' walk away, you will find the Takadano-baba metro station which, thanks to the JR Yamanote and Seibu-Shinjuku lines, serves easily and quickly all of the districts of the largest agglomeration in the world. Finally, if you are lucky enough to be in Tokyo in the spring, you will be able to admire, only a stone's throw away from the school, the ephemeral beauty of the cherry blossoms along the banks of the Kandanawa river.
If you intend to carry out a language study stay of a short duration (3-6 weeks), you will be able to take courses in the other ISI Language School campus. Located in the same district, only a stone's throw away from the Shin-Okubo metro station on the JR Yamanote line, the course centre is large and the atmosphere there is friendly. You will get to know students from throughout the world! The Shin-Okubu district is one of the most famous areas for foreigners, and you will find a large variety of restaurants and Asian speciality shops there.

Guesthouse
ISI-Tokyo proposes staying in a guesthouse (Matsudo, Warabi or Shiki). This is the option which is most often chosen by European students. You will have your own small bedroom and will share the common areas (kitchen/dining room, laundry, showers, living room with TV and Internet zone) with the other residents. You will need to allow for around 45 minutes by metro to get to the school, and around 18'000 yen per month for transport costs.
Important: the accommodation must be booked a minimum of 2 months in advance for a duration of 4 weeks only. For longer stays, the extension of the booking must be made on-site.

Leisure
After class, you will certainly find plenty to occupy your afternoons and evenings. Travel around Tokyo, from the Imperial Palace to the Electric Town of Akihabara, passing through the City of Dolls (Ningyocho). Do some shopping, learn about Japanese tea ceremonies, take a course in Ikebana or contemplate, your nose to the sky, the way-out designs of Metabolist architecture. Anything is possible in the immense capital of Japan. The school will also give you ideas and advice on what to do and see: climbing trails on Mount Fuji, water sports in summer and hiking, ice-skating, skiing and snowboarding in winter.
