School

Our partner school has its premises in a beautiful Caribbean-style house only a stone’s throw away from Trinidad Square, where Cartagena won its independance at the beginning of the 19th century. Consisting of 6 large, bright classrooms, the Nueva Lengua language school also has a computer room in which you have Internet access whenever you want it and for free. For studying, you will be able to work alone in the study room. During break times or after the Spanish classes, you will be able to go and relax in the cafeteria or in the interior garden.

Accommodation

Host family
Latin America is a dream location for learning Spanish in an environment which is a complete change of scenery. If you stay with a host family, you will have the ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the Colombian culture. The families are chosen carefully by our partner schools and are situated around 15 minutes away from the language school building. They offer accommodation in a single room with half board. They take care of your laundry once a week and provide you with a house-key to enable you to be totally independent.

Student residence
You may also choose to stay in a residence, which is on the same grounds as the school itself, in a single or double room. The rooms are cleaned daily and you will have the possibilty to have your meals there. The residence is situated in the historic part of Cartagena, close to shops, cafés and restaurants.

It seems an absolute must that you discover Cartagena and its surroundings during the outings planned by our partner school. You cannot miss out on the visit to the historic city, its remparts, its alleyways and other places of interest. As it is situated beside the sea, you will also be able to enjoy its magnificent beaches, like those of the National Park and the Rosario Islands which allow you to dive in to discover truly beautiful marine fauna. For a different, special sort of bathing, you will be invited to slosh about in the mud of the Totumo Volcano which lies at an altitude of only 30m above sea level ! You will not get bored and will go on unexpected visits which will be a complete change of scenery for you. Cartagena and its surrounding region is not to be missed out on.
