Language school Brighton, British Study Centre (BSC)

WiFi is free.

School

The school occupies a large, beautiful 4-storey Victorian building located in Hove, on a small quiet tree-lined street which opens out onto Kings Way, the large street beside the sea. This ideal location allows students to take advantage of all of the attractions of the city centre and of the beach which are both around fifteen minutes away. BSC Brighton offers its students modern equipment and excellent conditions for learning English, including 15 spacious and bright classrooms, an independent study room, a library, a computer room, a WiFi connection, a cafeteria, a garden and a terrace. Finally, the school distinguishes itself by having a Job Club, where students can get information concerning student jobs. In this way, the school becomes a favourable platform for those who wish to find part-time work during their studies. This service is free and gives appointments to interested students once every two weeks in order that they may find out information on potential employers (bars, hotels, promotional work, shops. etc.). Participants are given information regarding the laws and methods in force and benefit from a complementary personalised service on how to correct/adapt CVs.

Brighton abounds wth job opportunities for students. For this reason, we have put in place, with our partner schools, a specific service, the «Job Club». This meeting place offers a free interfact between the local market and the student community. It is an effective exchange platform which, thanks to the advice of professionals, to the assistance of the school and to the experience of former students, will allow you to find a job which is compatible with your studies and your availabiltiy (in this case, the standard course will be the best suited). It is also a good opportunity to extend your stay after your academic course.

The Job Club meets up regularly and all interested students can participate it in for free.
You will find there:
• advice for your job search
• current information on the jobs available in the city
• assistance for writing/correcting your CV
• useful information on the laws in force, employees' rights, insurance, minimum wage, etc.
• meetings during which various speakers will present various job opportunities to you

Here are the main areas which offer numerous possibilities for finding a job:
Bars, hotels, cafés, restaurants, clubs, shops, services, administration, promotional work, handing out flyers, transport, handling of materials, tourism, travel and sports events. etc. If you are motivated, flexible and ready to devote the time required by our employer and by the job...then Europe opens its arms to you!

Accommodation

For those who wish for it, we organise accommodation during the first part of the programme which concerns the courses in London or in Brighton, either in a host family or in a shared apartment. For the second part of the programme, the accommodation is generally included in the contract, in various forms. Effectively, in some hotels, the participants may be accommodated in a single or shared room for a favourable price, destined for the staff of the establishment. Sometimes the meals are included, otherwise, a kitchen shared between residents is available. In other hotels, the accommodation is deducted directly from the salary (approx. 10% of the salary).
