Voluntary work
Following your language courses in Ecuador, you will be able to work as a volunteer in one of the following fields of activity:
• Social work: work with street kids (projects in different areas: general supervision in "open houses", psychological help, teaching and help with homework, medical help, etc.), work with handicapped people (e.g. with Down-Syndrome) or retired people
• Healthcare : internship in a hospital or clinic
• Tourism: work in a travel agency

Programme requirements:
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Duration: minimum of 12 weeks
• Authorisation to stay on the territory for 12 weeks. You can get an extension on-site (Immigration office). Leaving and re-entering the country is not an option. In some cases, a visa is required even if you are staying for less than 12 weeks.
• Language level required: beginners must take an 8-week intensive Spanish course or a 12-week standard course. Participants with an advanced level of Spanish must take a course for a minimum of 2 weeks.

Accommodation: volunteers can choose one of the options proposed by the Academia Columbus School on the three sites. When the place of intervention is too far away from the course centre, accommodation is offered by the voluntary work organisation or has to be organised by the participant.
