Voluntary work programme
Once you have attended Russian courses in our partner school in St Petersburg and reached an upper intermediate or advanced level (B1/B2), you will start the voluntary work programme, for which three domains are proposed.
For all voluntary work, the requirements are the same: interest in the proposed field of activity, flexibility as regards working hours, commitment, and a B1/B2 language level. These language skills are essential to be able to communicate with people on-site. You will acquire them during a language course in our partner school, prior to beginning to work.


1. Voluntary work in a rehabilitation centre for horses
Taking care of the horses (cleaning, brushing, bathing and feeding them, cleaning their hooves), assisting the veterinaries if necessary, maintenance of the centre (cleaning the boxes, etc.)
Working hours: part time or full time, minimum of 20 hours/week
Duration: 2 weeks to 3 months*
Minimum age: 18 years


2. Theatre assistant
Joining a team of professionals who are organising a drama festival, supporting the administration staff, informing and welcoming the companies coming from various countries, informing the festival coordinator of eventual problems faced by artists and of any translation problem, providing logistic support to the theatre staff.
Requirements: mother tongue: English, French, Polish or Hebrew, interest in drama or performing arts in general, organisation and communication skills
Working hours: Flexible morning/evening, 10 to 15 hours/week
Duration: 2 months* (September/October)
Minimum Age: 18 years


3. Voluntary work in an orphanage
Taking part in the implementation of measures for the physical rehabilitation of children, contributing to the development and realization of social welfare programmes for orphans, organising educational and leisure activities.
Requirements: Studies or experience in healthcare, education or psychology, experience with little children desired. Health certificate and negative HIV test result required.
Working hours: to be scheduled on-site, minimum 4 hours/week
Duration: 2 weeks to 6 months*
Minimum age: 18 years
 
* Compulsory visa for Russia:
1-30 days: Tourist visa, no extension possible
31-90 days: short-term student visa, possibility to extend it for another 90 days
