School

You will study English in the heart of Cape Town. Our partner school is housed in a modern building, ideal for learning in a studious and friendly atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and the 25 classrooms are well equipped. A library, resource centre and free Internet access complete the school’s facilities. After classes or during breaks, relax with your new friends over a coffee at the “Café”, to plan the weekend’s excursion or the next party. Long Street, just near the school, is full of boutiques and trendy cafés. And if you want to travel and see the country, the station and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront are about 20 minutes away.

The programme:
The programme starts with a course of a minimum of 4 weeks at the EC language school, which will allow you to achieve a B1 level in English, since you need to be able to communicate with other people on-site. Once you have acquired the language skills that are required to get involved in the voluntary work programme, you will begin the second part of the programme, which may last from 4 weeks to 6 months. On average, the participants spend 8 to 12 weeks working as volunteers. Transport to the place of work is not included and the participants are required to pay an amount of ZAR 300 (approx. CHF 33.- / € 27.-) per week to the school for transport.
