LAL Cape Town

Our host families in Cape Town live up to 30 minutes from the school by public transport, but please note that this may be longer in peak seasons. They have been carefully selected and are regularly checked by our partner school in order to ensure that students enjoy a high level of comfort and are able to share in the daily life of the locals, their customs and of course, their language. In fact, living with a host family is undoubtedly the best form of accommodation for improving your language skills! Students stay in single rooms with breakfast only or half-board (breakfast and dinner) provided daily.

This residence is the perfect option for students wanting a sociable stay just a 15-minute walk from the campus. You will have the choice of either a single, twin or dormitory room. Single and twin rooms each offer individual semi-shared bathrooms or ensuite bathrooms. Dormitories (either 5 or 10-bed) also offer both bathroom options. Rooms are also equipped with beds, cupboards, side tables, student desks, Wi-Fi, and linen/towels are provided. Single and twin rooms are also equipped with TVs. A cleaning service is provided three times per week, and breakfast is provided every day — there is also a shared kitchen for students to cater for themselves for other meals. Laundry can be done in nearby laundromats. Between classes, students have plenty of facilities to entertain themselves and make friends, including a lovely garden with outside seating, a small swimming pool, and a dining area. 

Cape Town is a young, vibrant city with plenty of places to explore alongside your new friends. This residence is the perfect way to make these new friends in a relaxed environment right next to your school. Apartments will have between 9-18 students, and you will have the choice of a single room with a private or semi-shared bathroom or a twin room (generally for students travelling together, but it can be possible to share with another student staying at the residence). Rooms are equipped with a wardrobe, TV, and often a table and chair (in most, but not all cases). Bed linen and towels are included and can be cleaned for a fee in one of the nearby laundromats. Breakfast is included, and there are shared kitchen facilities to prepare your lunch and dinner. Between classes, you can enjoy a meal with your housemates or soak in the South African sun with a traditional braai in the outdoor area equipped with a barbeque.
