This family-run school has a very friendly atmosphere and is ideally situated only a few minutes away from the beach. Port Douglas English Language Centre is also the only school in Australia to offer mini-group courses (max. 6 students per class). This option favours "tailor-made" teaching, built around the individual needs of each student, and progress is quickly made. Students will find top-quality learning material in the multimedia resource centre where Internet access is free and there is also a WiFi zone. The classrooms are comfortable, bright, and rest of the facilities, bathed in sunshine and tropical vegetation, create an enchanting environment in which to study English.

Accommodation

Host family
The host families in Port Douglas live in an area which is close to the school. Students can get to and from the school easily on foot, by bicycle or by bus. Most families have a swimming pool or live close to the beach. Students stay in single rooms with half-board provided. The families are chosen with care by our partner school and will suit adults and professionals with demands of convenience and comfort. Staying with a host family is also an excellent opportunity to put into practice the new language skills you have acquired in everyday situations.

Leisure

The entry point for two UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, Port Douglas is full of possibilities for adventure and discovery. Diving (with or without tanks) on the Outer Barrier Reef, golf by the seaside, relaxing on the famous 4 mile Beach or rafting on the Tully River, swimming in the crystal waters of Mossman Gorge, dawn excursions to witness living history in one of the most ancient tropical forests in the world (110 million years). Kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, rare birds and multicoloured flowers… Enjoy also the warm and festive atmosphere of Port Douglas and especially don’t forget your camera!
