Our partner school is located in Toronto city centre, and features two campuses designed and equipped to offer a first-class learning environment and facilities to students. In addition to the 63 classrooms dedicated to English classes, three computer language labs, and Wi-Fi internet access throughout the building, the school also has common areas where students can relax and get to know each other in an international and multicultural environment. ILSC is close to Toronto’s main attractions, including the vibrant bars and restaurants in the entertainment district, the fashion district and China Town.

My little BIG journey started from Zurich. I flew to Toronto with lots of ideas in my mind but I didn’t really know what to expect.

Once in Toronto, I was warmly greeted by my host family (Maria, Chuck et Charley, 5 years), who were all waiting for me. We got on very well right from the start and our relationship developed to become a real friendship during my stay.

ILSC is a great school for a language course. It is located in the very centre of town (close to the famous Eaton shopping mall) and it has incredible teachers, helpful staff members and excellent facilities. What I liked most was the low percentage of Swiss students at the school. I spent most of my time with students from other continents. Not only did I learn English, but I also approached other cultures.

The multiple experiences I had during my language course made me a stronger person!

Toronto is an amazing city offering lots of different activities, day and night! I decide to stay with a host family; I didn’t regret my choice, as this made me practise my English while meeting great people!

The school was well located in the city centre; I used public transports to reach it, but they were pleasant and easily accessible.

English courses were targeted depending on our needs, objectives and wishes. And if you don’t like that, the teacher and the director allow you to change and go to a different class.

I improved my English despite my short stay (5 weeks); I did an intensive course (morning and afternoon).

The school offers different activities to encourage the students to meet each other (CN Tower, pub…). During the weekend, you can visit New York, French Canada, Chicago, Washington…

The people I had the chance to meet during the trip were all warm and interesting! In Toronto you can find a mix of many different nationalities, and this is very enriching. I learned a lot and I don’t regret anything about this trip. I recommend this city!

Toronto is a marvellous city, with lots of things to do all year round. Impossible to get bored! You can find any nationality and people are very welcoming. I really liked the school because I could choose the best course depending on my level. I had the chance to meet people from around the world and have interesting discussions in and outside the class. Furthermore, the school organises afternoon activities to visit the city and meet even more people!

Host family
Canadian families are known for their warm welcome and for making their guests feel right at home. Host families live in Toronto's residential areas, which offers a certain quality of life but means having to use public transport to get to the school. Students stay in single rooms and have half board or full board provided. This option is ideal for immersing yourself in Canadian culture and practising English in everyday life situations. It is also an opportunity to make friends for life in Canada. For more flexibility, it is possible to book accommodation without meals (roomstay). In this case, you have access to the family's kitchen, or your own.

Chestnut Residence (from 18 years, minimum 4 weeks)
Located just 5 minutes’ walk from the school, in downtown Toronto, this university residence welcomes students in single rooms with private bathrooms, only during the summer. Breakfast and dinner are served at the cafeteria of the residence. For your convenience, a fitness room is available free of charge and there’s a common TV lounge for socialising with the other international guests. On each floor, you will also have access to a common area with a microwave and a fridge. Weekly housekeeping is provided and bedlinen is supplied (but not changed during your stay). The laundry facilities and internet connection are at a charge.
NOTE: Residence Chestnut is available from 20.05.17 to 13.08.2017 with a minimum stay of 4 weeks. In July, this accommodation option is only available for stays of at least 2 months.

Toronto offers infinite possibilities for leisure activities, and ILSC takes advantage of this in order to create a rich and varied environment after classes. Numerous sports, recreational and cultural activities are available to enjoy each week, including visits to major tourist attractions like the CN Tower, and ferry rides to Toronto Island, museums, art galleries, neighborhood tours, hockey, baseball and basketball games, gardens, bowling, music or film evenings.
