Galway was one of the best experiences of my life. It’s a small but incredibly lively city, and it’s impossible to get bored there. It has all the atmosphere of a university town, and every night, there’s something to do, like the salsa nights on Wednesdays at Monroe’s and Fridays at The Front Door. The people there are really friendly and try to help you as much as they can. I stayed with a host family, and they treated me as if I were their own son.

I would also like to mention the Atlantic language school. I had an incredible 8 months there, and every week you have the chance to meet new people. I made lifelong friends, and today I’m still in touch with people from Brazil, Italy and South Korea, to name a few.

If I had the opportunity to go back, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second.

My experience in Galway was unbeatable. I can’t imagine a better city to spend a few weeks. In addition to being beautiful, there’s music in the streets 24 hours a day and a fantastic cultural atmosphere. And if you want to get away from the crowds, you always have the seaside promenade, another beautiful place for a stroll.

Likewise, you’re also very close to some marvellous places like Connemara, the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher… in short, the Wild Atlantic Route. I rented a car and a bike to travel it, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

There was also time to study. I did a 4-week FCE exam preparation course at the Atlantic School, right in the city centre in a modern building with very knowledgeable and friendly teachers. Thank you so much, ESL – it’s been a great experience.

I lived close to the school, so I could walk there.
It was a shame that I couldn’t extend my stay… I will definitely do it next time!

My experience at Atlantic Language in Galway was short (3 weeks) but intense. This was my third immersion experience in Anglo-Saxon territory, as I had been to Toronto and Edinburgh, but it was the best one. As to the teachers, I only have pleasant memories. Atlantic is like a big family!

I fell in love with Galway immediately. I had already been there for a short visit a few years ago, but, even though it may sound cliché, its people are lovely and extremely friendly, which is essential in order to feel welcome. Regarding its geographical location, it allows to explore lots of unforgettable territories (Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey in Connemara or Sligo, up north). I was quite busy on the weekends!

Galway is like an everlasting music festival: street musicians, buskers… everywhere! I remember the song that they play before closing the pubs, “Galway girl”, a classic for locals. I want to return!

To finish my university studies with an enriching, English-speaking experience, I decided to spend my 2016 in Galway, Ireland, so that I could also discover a new culture at the same time. Since my first week in Galway, I was charmed by this lively and dynamic city. You can meet people with all kind of backgrounds… and Irish people are very welcoming! I stayed within a host family; living at their own, Irish pace was extremely interesting. In addition, the school offers a nice learning environment where you can meet people from all over the world. Teachers were very professional and helped us to achieve the best possible results.

After 11 weeks, I can only recommend this destination; a language stay here is a great experience and Ireland is full of incredible landscapes. It’s not only a language experience; it’s also a cultural and social growth.

Do not hesitate, go!!!

I spent three weeks at the Atlantic school in Galway, Ireland. The school is very well located and parts of the premises have been recently refurbished, which allows you to work in good conditions. There is a big hallway with a cafeteria and a terrace to relax during the break!

The teachers were very accessible and we worked on our oral, written and listening skills. That was great because there was always a good dynamics during the classes! Depending on the subjects dealt with, everyone explained the specificities of their countries! That was greatly enriching.

As far as the accommodation was concerned, my host family was great!! I will never forget the three months I spent at their place! I had my super comfortable room and I had all my meals with them in the evening, as for lunch I ate at the school. There was a good atmosphere at home and I quickly felt at ease. I was very warmly welcomed (with a good tea of course!) and I shed a few tears when I left! Today, I am still in contact with them and I am planning to go back to Ireland to settle there!

I recommend traveling with ESL because I was very well assisted during my project and when I called several times to have information, I was always well guided and advised!

Go and live an unforgettable experience in Ireland without any further delay!

I think it is an experience no to be missed in one’s life. My stay is Galway is going to be unforgettable. Galway is a small town that has it all. People are very welcoming, always ready to help you or to just chat. It’s an excellent town to feel in an Irish atmosphere. A town that’s always on the move, where young people from all over the country go to enjoy a weekend. The school allows you to make quick progress in English. The lessons take place in a relaxed atmosphere. The diversity of the classes allowed me to avoid people who speak my mother tongue, which is necessary for your progression when learning a foreign language. When I arrived in Galway, my level of English was A1 and two months later it was B2. The building where the school is located is very modern and moreover it is in the city centre. My greatest apprehension was to live in a host family, but it was an incredible experience. The family gave me a lot of attention. With more than one hour of conversation per day, which helps to improve your English. In short, Galway is a town that is constantly alive and allows you to live an experience in a real Irish atmosphere and can allow you to make real progress in English.

I spent 3 amazing weeks in Galway, at the Atlantic Language School. I lived with a really nice host family and my neighbours were other students from the same school, so it was nice to go to school with them in the morning! The school was great! I made so many new friends in such a short time, and the staff was very warm and helpful – both at reception and in the cafeteria. Teachers were really good as well. It’s nice to have different ones in the morning and in the afternoon, as it gives the opportunity to experience different learning methods. They were all very good at teaching English while making us discover the Irish culture.

The activity programme was extremely good; I visited the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher, hiked on the Connemara, discovered the hurling game and the pub nights… As for Galway itself, it’s a pretty little city with an amazing atmosphere. No doubts about it: if you want to learn English and live a wonderful experience, choose Galway and the Atlantic School! Ireland is a beautiful country with smiley and lovely people that will (almost) make you forget about the rain! I take this opportunity to thank ESL for helping me in the organization of this fantastic language stay and for suggesting Galway. I will cherish these memories forever!

My experience was extremely enriching. In Galway, it doesn’t matter if your English level is not very good; the locals will always tell you which bus you need to take to go home. When you go on a language trip, even if it’s short (like mine), you learn the vocabulary to cope with everyday situations, such as going to the supermarket, renting a bike or communicating with your host family (even though they laugh at you sometimes, for what you say!). I recommend trying this experience, learning and travelling with an open mind. Don’t hesitate to participate in all the activities organised by the school: the English classes of course, but also Irish culture and dance courses, etc. The school is very well organised and you won’t feel alone; be ready to meet people from all over the world!

Don’t forget to visit the Cliffs of Moher, to loose yourself on the beautiful bay of Galway, to explore the region of Connemara and, of course, to do some pub hopping and attend live music concerts. This experience was fabulous. I visited the city, met many people and learned English; I cannot complain! The only downside is that I had to cycle to school every day (5km), because the bus was expensive; but I have to admit that this made me discover many different places. Next year, I want to go back to Galway for another language stay, as I feel I still have many things to see there! This time, I think I will choose the apartment accommodation. And I will stay one month at least… with ESL, of course!

In Galway, even if it rains a lot, you still smile because you might bump into a “Leprechaun”! Ireland is really special!

Galway is a small city, but it has everything you need. Located on the charming shore, it is the perfect setting for a language stay. The school is excellent and everything is organized to make sure all students have an amazing time. On one side, you will improve your speaking and writing skills; on the other, you will discover the region through multiple excursions and enjoy the different night activities organised by the school. Galway’s nightlife is pretty cool, thanks to the multiple pubs and clubs where you can listen to live music performed by local artists. Finally, Irish people are very welcoming and open people, which makes life easy and pleasant. I would recommend Galway with no hesitation to my friends; my trip was really unforgettable and I hope to go back soon!

It was a very successful trip! The school is well organised, the activities are very interesting and pleasant. With the school, I visited the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. Really amazing!

The school welcomed students from all over the world. Obviously, there were some people from my country (Italy) but not many – and no one in my group; and anyway, most of them had a good English level, so it was not a problem for them to speak English with me. This is why, during my first week, I never spoke my native language! Time flew during classes; my teachers were very prepared and the school staff was always very helpful. I felt so good there!

For two weeks, I stayed with a host family. My “mum” did her best since the very first day to make me feel at home and her husband and children were very nice and helpful. For example, they gave me a lift to the city centre a few times. This sense of hospitality, which is typically Irish, impressed me every time and I enjoyed it a lot.

My host mum was also a very good cook… But sometimes she got over-excited and gave me her personal version of my dear Italian pizza! It was so funny! Once, she gave me a pizza with tomato, mozzarella, salami, spicy salami, corn and mushrooms. And of course, potatoes on the side – as usual. And then yogurt and desserts, as she knew I loved them. I didn’t want to leave anything in my plate, she was too nice!

To sum up, I was more than happy about my stay in Galway. I know that two weeks is not enough, but thanks to the school, my host family and the fabulous Irish people, I was able to improve my language skills quite a lot. I didn’t think that I would improve so much in such a short time. I would love to repeat the experience!

Galway is an extraordinary place; it kept its traditional look while progressing and developing into a modern and active city. As there is a university and multiple language schools, the population is very young and international. It’s really great! Irish people are very friendly, warm and helpful. Same for the school: the staff is very nice and helpful in case of any type of questions. Classrooms are modern and groups include different nationalities, which gives you the opportunity to discover new cultures. I learned a lot about the world! Finally, I would say that if you want to go on a language trip, GALWAY is a destination to consider. I’m having the time of my life!

Galway is a small and nice city on the west coast of Ireland. The city centre is very lively, with many shops, street performers and live music in the pubs. The school is modern, confortable and well located in the centre; the cafeteria was particularly nice. The courses were varied and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly; my teacher was very nice. I liked the different afternoon and evening activities, as they helped us to discover the country and meet the other students in the pubs, where we could listen to some Irish music together. At weekends, the school organised multiple excursions to natural sites, so that we could see some incredibly beautiful landscapes. The apartment I stayed in was clean and relatively modern. My flatmates were nice. If you are lucky, you can get a flat in Gort na Coiribe, a student village with many students from Atlantic Language, which is only 20 minutes away from the city centre. During my 3 weeks in Galway, I met plenty of really nice people and I improved my English a lot. It was an interesting experience that I highly recommend!

The school in Galway is perfectly located, only 5 minutes away from the town centre. I loved the large terrace with a sea view… Truly incredible! It's a great meeting point for friends and teachers to discuss the previous evening's activities and those of the next evening. In Galway, it's impossible to get bored, there's dancing, music and all these Celtic legends to listen to… You can only be happy here!

The staff at the reception desk was very available and helpful whenever I needed help throughout m stay. Guided by professional and motivated teachers, I could make considerable progress and started to feel confident when speaking English from the end of the second week onwards.

I really enjoyed the great nationality mix at the school because it gave me the opportunity to learn a lot from other people… What’s more, with Galway being a university town, there’s always something to do and a place to go out at night! The central location of the school allowed me to go out and discover the city easily after the English classes.

The school is everything that I expected. Building, classrooms, teachers, staff are all excellent. I would recommend to anybody to go there to learn English and more about Ireland in general. The social activity programme is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and to socialise with other people from the school. It is highly recommended. My accommodation was much better than I expected. I also improve my English due to the huge amount of attention given by my family. I would recommend Atlantic Language Galway; this school provides a service of high quality and the likelihood to make enormous progress in English thanks to the high level of teaching and also because of the nice atmosphere in the school.
