IELS Malta

The Maltese are known for their hospitality and, through the ages, have welcomed people of all nationalities onto their island and into their homes. Our partner school has carefully selected the Maltese families who host students. As each person is unique, the school does its best to match their requests, taking into consideration their interests, age and individual preferences. Students will have the opportunity to practise the English they've learned in class with the family and to experience the Maltese way of life. Students receive half-board (breakfast and dinner). The host families, who live in various towns in Malta, are located up to 45 minutes by bus from school.

This residence is just a 7-minute walk from the course centre. It consists of 45 studio apartments and 54 hotel rooms. It is fully air-conditioned, has central heating and also offers a communal kitchen and laundry facilities. Students can either cater for themselves or book dinner and/or breakfast from the residence. A 24-hour reception service ensures students’ safety, comfort and convenience. Next to the reception, there is a large open-plan student area equipped with free Wi-Fi and furnished with comfortable sofas and tables. During the summer months, students can enjoy a leisurely afternoon at the private rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace, which boasts nice views.

If you want to spend your time in Malta at a newly built residence filled with like-minded young students and high-quality facilities – all just a 25-minute bus ride from school – then this option is perfect for you. Students have the choice of a single, twin or triple room within a shared apartment. Each room is equipped with a desk and wardrobe, while each apartment has a shared kitchen. The residence will provide linen and change it weekly – students will need to bring their own towels, which they can wash for a fee in the onsite facilities. Students will be responsible for catering for themselves and keeping their own space clean day-to-day, but the residence will clean rooms and common rooms weekly. After school, you will find plenty to keep you occupied at this residence, including an onsite gym, outdoor pool, restaurant and cafe.

Sliema is known for its amazing beach and vibrant nightlife — you can experience both at this residence, which enjoys a central location surrounded by bars, minutes from the seafront, and all right above the school! Students will have the choice of a single or twin room in one of two interconnecting apartments (one with seven rooms and the other with five). Each room will have WIFI, a wardrobe and a bedside table. Bed linen and towels are provided and can be cleaned for a fee using the onsite facilities. Students will be required to cook for themselves in the two shared kitchens in the residence. There is a weekly cleaning service of rooms and common areas, and there is coin-operated air conditioning. This residence is great for socialising, as you’ll be living with many other students, and will have access to a dining room and lounge area with a TV.
