BBELS

BBELS is the only English school in Byron Bay. It occupies a beautiful, two-storey building in the heart of the town's shopping district, close to boutiques, restaurants and cafés, banks, supermarkets and post offices. The 14 classrooms are comfortable, well equipped and air-conditioned. Some computer stations are also available for students to access the Internet free of charge. In addition, a WiFi connection is available free of charge throughout the building. A beautiful, shady terrace is the ideal place to meet other students after class or during breaks. For your meals, a kitchen is available for use, unless you would prefer to meet your friends at the school's Oska café. BBELS is particular suitable for students who appreciate a relaxed atmosphere with a small group of friends, or who dream of taking a dip in the Pacific Ocean before classes.

Accomodation

Host family
Australian families have an innate sense of hospitality and are known for their “easy going” character. Students can get to school by bike (parking is available), which is without doubt the best way to travel in Byron Bay. Accommodation is in individual rooms with breakfast and dinner provided daily. From Christmas and throughout January, Byron Bay, which is becoming increasingly popular, fills with tourists, attracted especially by its Blues festival. It is therefore essential to reserve accommodation as early as possible for this time of year.
Student Houses
You also have the possibility of sharing a house with other students from the school. The student houses offered by BBELS contain three double bedrooms as well as a bathroom, living/dining room and a kitchen that is shared by the students for preparing meals. A washing machine is also available. Bed linen is provided but you must bring your own bath towels. The houses are located approximately fifteen minutes from the school and… the beaches!
Backpackers
Numerous backpacker hostels and hotels offering rooms for all budgets are also available, the school will help you to make reservations.

Leisure

Sea, sun and surf are on the program, as well as a wide range of sports, outings and parties that allow students to make the most of the exceptional setting that is Byron Bay. Off shore, you can go dolphin and whale watching or sound the depths of the ocean and discover over 400 species of marine life. It is possible to take scuba diving lessons, to attain a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) certificate and even become an instructor. As far as music is concerned, Byron Bay attracts numerous musicians who, inspired by the beauty of the setting, jam until dawn.
