BBELS occupies a beautiful, two-storey building in the heart of the town's shopping district, close to boutiques, restaurants, cafés, banks, supermarkets and the post office. The school has 14 classrooms which are comfortable, well-equipped and air-conditioned. In addition, the students also benefit from the use of 22 computers in order to access the Internet free of charge. A WiFi connection is also freely available throughout the building. A beautiful, shady terrace is the ideal place to meet other students after class or during breaks. For your meals, a kitchen is available for use, unless you would prefer to meet your friends at the school's café,"Oska". Additionally, BBELS is equipped with easy access for wheelchair users. The school will certainly appeal to those who like relaxed atmospheres within a small group of friends or who dream of going for a dip in the Pacific before going to classes.

Please note: from November until March every winter, standard and intensive courses may also take place in the evening (15:15–18:30 or 13:30–18:30) with a maximum of 8 students per class.

Preparation for Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE)

Host family
Australian families have an innate sense of hospitality and are distinguished by their easy going nature. Students can get to the school by bike, which is without doubt the best means of getting around Byron Bay. (The school rents bikes to students and has parking spaces available for their use). Accommodation is in a single room with half board during the week and full board at weekends.

Student house (from 18 years)
You also have the possibility of sharing a host with other students of the school. The student houses proposed by BBELS contain three double bedrooms, a bathroom, a living/dining room which is shared by the students as well as a washing machine and a kitchen for preparing your meals. Bedlinen is provided but you will need to bring your own towels. The student houses are also equipped with a WiFi connection. It will take you around 10 minutes by foot to get to the school and...the beaches!

Sea, surf and sun are on the programme, as well a wide range of group and sports activities, outings and parties outside of class which allow the students to get maximum benefit from the exceptional setting of Byron Bay. Out at sea, you can also go dolphin and whale watching or sound the ocean depths and discover more than 400 species of marine fauna. It is possible to take diving lessons and to pass the PADI certificate and even to become an instructor. When it comes to music, Byron Bay attracts numerous musicians who, inspired by the beauty of the place, will improvise until dawn...
