Living with an Australian family is the best way to improve your language skills outside of school. You’ll stay in a single room and you’ll practise English every day at breakfast and dinner with your hosts, who will show you their culture and city in their own unique way! Families usually live 60-90 minutes from the school by public transport; on your first day, they will show you how to buy your travel card and how to reach the school. Bed linen, towels are provided, laundry once per week is included, but Wi-Fi has a weekly fee of $10.
Cozzystay Budget (4 weeks minimum stay, ages 18 and over)
Located at various addresses, these fully-furnished houses and apartments offer single or twin rooms, with shared bathrooms. All of them are close to public transport, and the commute can take up to 50 minutes by bus. You’ll share the kitchen, the dining area and the lounge with your flatmates – this will allow you to practise your English outside of the class! Bed linen is provided (but not towels) and coin-operated laundry facilities are available. Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms and keeping the common area tidy.

Take advantage of the exciting activity programme organised by Kaplan Melbourne and immerse yourself in Australian culture! The programme allows students to explore the city while making new friends and speaking English outside the class. Some activities are free of charge, like movie nights and soccer game nights, while others require an additional fee. While you learn English in Melbourne, you’ll be able to enjoy the city’s cultural and creative vibes, practise sports and bask in the Aussie sunshine, see penguins on Philip Island, and marvel at breath-taking landscapes on the Great Ocean Road tour.
