Living with a host family is an enriching experience from both a social and linguistic point of view. Staying in a single room, you will be provided with half-board and enjoy the benefits of sharing experiences in total immersion with your local host. The families often live in residential areas, around 40 minutes from the school by bus.
Student house (from 18 years)
If you want more independence, a student house is a great option. Staying in a single bedroom, meals will be at your own expense, but the kitchen is at your disposal. The living room and bathroom are shared with the other flatmates. The student houses are between 10 and 20 minutes' walking distance from the school.
Phoenix Hall summer residence (from 18 years) (24.06-01.09.2018)
Located in the centre of Brighton near the iconic pier and 20 minutes from the language school by bus, the Phoenix Hall residence offers excellent value for the money. Staying in a single room fitted with a desk, chair and wardrobe, you will be able to prepare your meals in the modern, fully equipped kitchen together with the other international students. The private bathroom will offer you a certain amount of comfort and welcome privacy. A TV lounge, laundry facilities and Wi-Fi are also available. Each apartment accommodates up to 8 students, so you'll have plenty of chances to meet people!
With a wide range of outings and excursions during the week and at weekends, the school offers a complete social programme that makes it easy to meet people and practice your English. Various sports (including watersports) are available, and the long promenade along the seafront is perfect for jogging, cycling or roller skating. Brighton & Hove is one of the UK’s best cities for shopping, with the Lanes and North Laine being the most popular spots: both are also full of cafés, pubs and restaurants. If it all gets too much, take a break on the beach, have a dip in the sea and enjoy a barbecue in the evening!
