With its sunny terrace with views of the Alps, indoor swimming pool, spacious classrooms and large dining hall, the Leysin campus is sure to delight our younger participants! All students stay on-site in cosy bedrooms decorated in a traditional Alpine style. They can enjoy the multiple recreational areas to meet and have fun with their new international friends. The centre is located 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Leysin, near many shops and a wide variety of sports facilities for all tastes. This is the perfect location to make the most of the countless leisure options available in this exciting holiday resort! Notes: - During the summer, the course centre also welcomes younger participants, ages 8 to 12. The activities programme for the 13-17-year-olds, however, is organised separately. - The course centre also welcomes participants during spring and autumn. However, during this period there is only one age group (8-17) for the activities programme.

Participants stay in cosy alpine-style quadruple bedrooms located within the course centre. Each room has an ensuite bathroom, a TV and telephone, while each participant has their own desk and wardrobe. Bed linen is provided, but students will need to bring their own towels. You'll have your meals in the centre's large cafeteria together with the other international students. Make the most of the on-site indoor swimming pool and games area to relax after classes. The French teachers also live on-site to ensure students' well-being.

Leisure

The school offers a wide range of activities. In the afternoons, you’ll take advantage of the nearby sports facilities to enjoy various sports and leisure activities in spectacular surroundings. You will also have the opportunity to explore the region around Lake Geneva through shopping trips and area cultural excursions, while social game nights and disco parties keep your evenings exciting. On Sundays, full day excursion options include Montreux/Vevey, Le Bouveret or Gruyères. You can also visit plenty of excellent local museums including the Olympic Museum of Lausanne, the Alimentarium in Vevey or the Château de Chillon.

Please note that some optional activities (tennis, adventure, horse riding) must be booked in advance.

COURSE PLUS ADRENALINE Spring/Summer With its breathtaking scenery and diverse range of activities, Leysin is the perfect destination for thrill-seekers looking for an adrenalin-fueled adventure. During this programme, nature will be your rollercoaster, as you toboggan, scoot, and bike down the vast mountain ranges and glaciers that make up this gorgeous part of Switzerland.

Programme Tobogganing on the 3000m glacier of Diablerets on an alpine coaster. Dirt scooting down the mountain on a specially designed track. For those looking for a more strenuous activity, the programme also includes mountain biking tours around the area. These tours are a great way to explore the beautiful mountain landscapes and enjoy the adrenalin rush of biking on rough terrain.

Location The activities will take place across Leysin, aside from the toboggan, which will happen on the glaciers of Les Diablerets. Students will be taken to each of these activities by the school.

COURSE PLUS COOKING Summer/Autumn Cooking is a great way to experience a country’s culture and take a little of it back home with you to share with your friends and family. This programme will see you learn both local and international cooking styles, all while receiving daily language lessons. Not only will you learn new vocabulary and phrases related to cooking, but you can also practise your listening and speaking skills by following recipes and communicating with others in the kitchen. Overall, this programme is the ideal way to learn a language in an interactive setting.

Programme This programme consists of daily language lessons alongside three cooking lessons per week. The cooking curriculum includes cooking a range of desserts and sweets such as macarons, Breton Far, chocolate mousse and gateau Basque. We will also delve into the preparation of savoury dishes like sauces and salads. Alongside the hands-on cooking experience, there will be a brief theoretical component that covers key concepts in cooking, including ingredients and fundamental kitchen techniques. At the end of the class, students will receive copies of the recipes to take home and recreate the dishes on their own.

COURSE PLUS HORSE RIDING

Both horse riding and language lessons require patience, dedication, and a willingness to learn. Combining these two activities can be a unique and fun way to learn a new language while getting some fresh air, seeing the local area and spending time alongside your favourite animals.

Programme This programme includes daily language lessons alongside three horse riding lessons per week. Horse riding lessons can be adapted to all levels, from beginner to advanced, and can include rides in the centre or in the beautiful Swiss outdoors, depending on the weather and your riding level. Throughout the programme, you’ll learn to care for horses and the correct riding techniques, but please note that this programme is aimed as a fun addition to the camp experience, rather than a club-level course.

Materials Students should bring strong/sports shoes. You may also bring your own helmet, but one will be provided for you if you do not.

Location A horse riding club near the student residence

COURSE PLUS TENNIS

Tennis is a fun, engaging, and challenging way to get the blood pumping – which makes it the perfect activity to do after a long day of learning! In this programme, you’ll be able to combine your language lessons with tennis lessons delivered by professional instructors.

Materials Students should bring sports/tennis shoes and sports clothes. They can bring their own racket, but one will be provided otherwise.

Location An external tennis centre, 15 minutes from the school

Timing Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 14:00 - 16:00 (Please note this can vary depending on the number of participants and the availability of the courts) (Including travel time).
