I decided to go abroad by myself to travel and improve my English. I went all in on an adventure without knowing what awaited me, and I returned with the idea that it had been the best experience of my life. I decided to go to Cork, a city in Ireland which in my opinion is really beautiful, and the amount of people from other cultures you find there that you meet in experiences like these is incredible. Ireland is a beautiful country where in less than a month you can visit some of its most important cities. I returned to Spain with the desire to go back, and I hope I can count on help from ESL again!

The weeks I spent in Cork were really nice. My host family couldn’t have been better. I was warmly welcomed, helped, loved and – most of all – protected. I had everything I needed. I thought I would live further, but the location was actually really good. The school offered interesting and productive courses. My best memory is definitely my host family; I will be forever grateful. Finally, my stay was amazing, as well as the school and the accommodation.

This summer, I did a 5-week English course in Cork. I stayed with an Irish family that was very nice and helped me a lot with the language. Their home was spacious and was a 25-minute walk away from the school.

At school, I found the lessons to be extremely useful. I improved my English a lot more than I expected to. I really liked the school and the methodology, which was very dynamic and made the lessons easy to follow. There were also some after-school activities, which allowed me to meet a lot of people, as well as trips on the weekends.

The centre of the city is small, so it’s easy to get around. In short, it was a very pleasant experience and stay that I really enjoyed. I’ve made new friends and excellent memories. I hope I can return next year.

Cork is a beautiful, multicultural and charming city. It has lots of places where you can meet up with friends and have a nice time. Besides, its nightlife is amazing – its pubs are a must, they play great music there. At the same time, visiting other areas of Ireland is also amazing. I really enjoyed my holiday.

ACET/C.L.C. is an excellent school with professional and friendly teachers. They make learning English seem easy and intuitive. My English is not as good as I wish it were yet, but I learnt a lot and definitely improved. Most of all, I overcame my fear of speaking English, which I consider a success.

My host family had a large and confortable house, which was within easy reach from the school by bus. They were great and they took good care of me. I will always hold great memories of them.

I’m looking further to repeating the experience in 2016. I hope it will be as interesting, fun and fascinating as the one I had this summer.

I would like to thank all of the staff members at the school and all of my teachers, without forgetting everyone at ESL Spain, who always solved my problems and doubts efficiently and kindly.

I learnt a lot during the morning classes. The teachers are brilliant, very nice and good at explaining, so it’s quite easy to adapt. I am very satisfied with the shared apartment accommodation too. We are all independent, each with our own bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The apartment is ideally located close to the town centre and the school. The city of Cork is not too oversized, which makes it very pleasant, and its inhabitants are so kind... In short, I had a great stay, I would gladly stay here 4 or 5 more months in order to be completely at ease.

Cork is a bustling and beautiful city. On another hand, I think it is quite a city for living. There are a lot of shops, pubs and interesting places. I like it. In my experience, my accommodation with a host-family was excellent! I had a very good relationship with them and I'm very happy about it. In my opinion, this school is excellent to learn English because everything (school, teachers, administration staff, material, etc.) is adequate to do the lesson.

When I arrived in Cork, a cosmopolitan city, I had a good surprise when I felt the atmosphere and when I met friendly Irish people. There were a lot of shops with Christmas lights and it was very nice. At school, my teachers were very nice and seem to like very much their job. The staff was available all the time and I could see the school organises lots of cultural activities. I lived in Coppinger Court apartments with a Spanish flat mate. I had to speak English more because I had a foreign flat mate and I think it was better. I appreciated space in my apartment and the proximity to the school.

I really enjoy my holiday. Cork is a beautiful and lovely city. There are a lot of places where you can meet people and have fun. The C.L.C is a good school with very kind and interesting teachers. It seems easier to learn English with them. My English isn’t as good as I want but I learnt a lot of important things. I think it’s a good idea to have test all weeks. The apartment in Coppinger court is spacious and comfortable. It was close to the school, it’s a good point as well. Now, I’m going to have my work experience. So I hope it will be as interesting as the school. I want to say: thank you for all school staff: Joelle, Kate, Caitriona and all teachers, Laura and Camille.

People are friendly and welcoming. In the evening, in the pubs, there is a good atmosphere. Around Cork, the landscapes are magnificent. The school is really professional and helpful if we have some request or needs. The numbers of students is suited to the rooms and the quality of classes is excellent. Their methods are different than in France. The lessons captivated me from the beginning to the end. I was hosted by a very good family. They speak slowly especially for me. The food was excellent. I am very happy to be here, I regret staying only two weeks. I improved my English very quickly and I need to progress again.

I feel my English has improved because I can practise it everyday with friends, teachers and the family. What I mostly like about Ireland is the people, the green hills, the beautiful beaches, the Irish accent and of course the pubs!
