Living with a host family while learning English in Cambridge will give you a truly memorable experience, both in a linguistic sense and from a cultural point of view! You'll get to live with a local host and feel the true value of total immersion as you practise your English. Host families offer half board, so you'll have two meals a day provided, not to mention a great opportunity to bond over the dinner table! Your host will usually live 40-50 minutes (or a 30-minute bike ride) away from the school.
Tripos Court residence
Tripos Court residence complex is found a 30-minute bus ride away from the school. You'll stay in a single room with en-suite, sharing a fully equipped kitchen with other students in your apartment area, where you can socialise and enjoy the common spaces together as you get to know people from all around the world. Each room has a desk, wardrobe, and safe for valuables, and bed linen (but not towels) provided. On site, you'll find coin-operated laundry facilities, and bike storage in case you want to explore the town on two wheels!
Study Inn residence
Cambridge will be at your fingertips if you stay at this residence! You’ll have your own private studio, which includes a bathroom, an equipped kitchen, and a lounge with TV. On site, you’ll have access to excellent facilities such as the gym, the lounges with Sky TV and games consoles, an outdoor courtyard to enjoy when it’s sunny, and some study rooms. Wi-Fi is free and bed linen is included (but not towels!). The laundry facilities have an extra cost. The journey to school takes 30 minutes on foot or by bus, and only 10 minutes by bike.
You'll never find a dull moment in Cambridge, with so much to see and do in the area. Cambridge is a bike-friendly city, with many bike rental shops available for you to explore the town at your leisure! With over 800 years of university history and an array of beautiful buildings from centuries past, you'll be in idyllic surroundings almost everywhere you go. The River Cam flows through the city, and you can spend a jolly afternoon on it punting on traditional boats. The school also organises various activities, so you'll have ample opportunity to socialise, with film nights, paintballing, and even shows in London, located just an hour away by train, on offer!
