It’s been a long while since Covent Garden was the garden of the monks of Westminster and, following on from this, London’s fruit and vegetable market. Fashionable boutiques, fine dining and pulsating nightclubs that attract the most trendy Londoners… Covent Garden today is a district that is in perpetual motion, overflowing with energy. Welcome to the heart of the West End’s parties!

In the heart of the capital, our partner school is located in beautiful Covent Garden, just steps from the shops, restaurants and cafés of this fashionable district and close to four stations on the main tube lines. A significant asset that will motivate you to learn the English language in full immersion in the city! In a brand new richly decorated building, the school accommodates 52 air-conditioned classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual material (audio, TV, DVD) and interactive whiteboards in all classrooms. The computer room, digital language laboratory, well-furnished library, “Fair Trade” cafeteria serving drinks and hot and cold meals, “funky” student lounge, relaxation areas as well as the helpful and attentive staff of the school will contribute to make your life easier. You will enjoy free Internet access via Wi-Fi throughout the building. The teachers are experienced and dedicated to developing and strengthening your language skills. With an emphasis on communication, the classes will explore the use of the language in everyday situations. A wide range of courses and levels is offered by this respected school, renowned for the excellence of its teaching, in the heart of the English capital. Make the most of it!

Testimonials

Luca Trovò
Luca Trovò
IH London Covent Garden
Duration: 6 weeks

I am very happy of my language course. I am currently following a semi-intensive programme in the morning and in the afternoon, after which I will start the IELTS exam preparation course. I studied in class of a lower level for the first 2 weeks, but then the school decided to place me in another group and now I have been studying in the right course for 4 weeks.

In my group there are 15 students, from Italy, Brazil, Korea, Japan… the nationality mix at school is good, but the presence of Italians is still pretty strong. I also like the Nido King’s Cross residence, I only had some problems when I arrived: it was on a Sunday and there were a lot of people who needed to check in and the reception staff did not give me much information. I also had to speak with the cleaning staff, because they didn’t come when expected. However the service is good and the location is excellent, I go to school by tube: in the morning there are always a lot of people, but I only have two stops, so it just takes me 15-20 minutes.

My conversation skills have improved and I really like the teaching methods used in classroom: they are not much based on books, but more on self-correction, sentence-building and the common expressions that we don’t usually find in grammar books. Talking about real life situations, we can make faster progress. I would recommend students to visit different parts of London: I’ve really enjoyed going to Soho and to the alternative area of East London lately!
