London is a city of contrasts. Each of its neighbourhoods has its own identity, and Highgate is no different! This tranquil north London suburb is the site of our partner school, located in a beautiful Victorian style house. There are 24 well-equipped classrooms, a large library, a digital language lab, a multimedia room with free Wi-Fi and tablets, plus a bookshop... the perfect environment for making friends and practising the language! Students can also enjoy excellent homemade dishes in the cafeteria, on the veranda or in the school’s lovely gardens with a picnic area. And, you can reach central London in only 20 minutes' time!

The St. Giles school in Highgate is well located: in a residential district, close to the town centre. It is very convenient and life is less stressful, more relaxed. The classrooms are not large but some of them are equipped with interactive whiteboards, which is a great teaching tool. The school also organises many activities during the week and at weekends: karaoke, museum visits, pub evenings, to allow us to make friends quickly. I stay with a charming host family. They spend time with me and are very open-minded. My trip to London is a very good experience.

London is the most beautiful city in the world! It never sleeps and it’s only a 1-hour flight from Germany! I lived in a student residence called Chester House, in the beautiful area of Musvell Hill – in North London. It’s considered a rich neighbourhood, as many celebrities live there. St Giles school is in Highgate, which is the North as well – it’s a 15-minutes bus ride from the residence. St Giles is a beautiful school, not too big, with an excellent organisation. Teachers are lovely and helpful. During the classes, we only spoke English – well, it’s the purpose of all this, isn’t it? We did many exercises, like discussions or fun activities. I met plenty of really nice people from all over the world. I left the school a long time ago, but this is definitely the best experience I’ve ever had!

My first idea was to refresh my English skills. I decided to validate my level with an exam and I registered for the FCE. I chose St Giles Highgate for it’s location – not too far from the city-centre – and because the school seemed very cosy. The preparation of the exam suits me very well; I am studying with younger students and this is very stimulating, it makes me improve faster. Teachers are caring and helpful. I am very happy about my choice!

Host family
This is an ideal option for students who want to immerse themselves in the daily life of an English family. Families provide half-board or breakfast only, and single rooms. Highgate is a residential district and families live about 40 minutes from the school. During the high season, students under 18 years may be placed in a twin room with another student of a different native language but of the same age. If travelling with another student, you can benefit from a better price by booking a twin room. Contact us for more information.

Note: during the summer months, the accommodation may be located at a greater distance from the school.
