CELTA
The world-renowned English teaching qualification, awarded by Cambridge ESOL. Develop essential English teaching skills working with expert tutors, fellow trainees and real students. Exam board fees included.
Course duration: 120 hours over 4 weeks
Class times: You can choose to study in the morning (9.00-16.00) or in the afternoon (11.30-18.30)
Maximum class size: 15 (1:5 staff ratio)
Minimum age: 18

IH TESOL Certificate
International House’s TESOL includes teaching practice with real classes and regular feedback from expert trainers. Develop the practical skills needed to plan and deliver great lessons. The course structure is similar to the CELTA but this qualification is suitable for teachers whose first language is not English.
The IH Certificate is also available for teachers of French, German, Italian and Spanish.

CLIL
Explore CLIL methodology and apply it to your own teaching context. Specialist tutors will work with you to produce activities and materials which can be used as part of a CLIL curriculum in your day-to-day teaching.

Current Trends: Theory and Practice in English Language Teaching
Study the underlying principles of teaching a second language and develop practical techniques for using the latest ELT methodology in your own teaching context. Learn about uses for technology in your lessons, how to motivate your students (however large the class) and how to design an effective syllabus. Learn how to implement task-based learning and how to test students. The course also acts as a forum for ideas.

Life in Britain - Bringing Culture to the Classroom
Learn about the media, music, fashion, art, law, education, politics, film and modern literature that makes Britain the country it is. Improve your understanding of contemporary British culture and use the knowledge in your classroom. After all, what is a language without its culture?

IH Practical Teacher and Language Development
Develop practical approaches for teaching English as a second language, including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Explore the role of technology and media in the classroom, including songs, games and videos. Learn the methodology behind task-based learning strategies and how to prepare your students for exams.

IBET Certificate
The Certificate in International Business Training is aimed at teachers who want to teach Business English to clients and gain a recognised qualification for it. This course prepares you to take the Trinity College London Cert IBET. It is an intensive course with morning and afternoon study sessions that will cover both theoretical and practical areas of teaching Business English. The programme was designed to give participants a good working knowledge of best practice in teaching English, along with useful classroom skills.

DELTA
Designed for those wishing to take their teaching to a higher professional level, the Cambridge DELTA award is a common requirement for full-time teaching work in the United Kingdom. Module One looks at the background to teaching and learning and is assessed with a written exam. Module Two explores professional practice and is assessed with a portfolio of teaching assignments. Module Three is a specialist extended assignment. The written exam, held in June or December, comprises two papers of 1.5 hours each. You can take the exam at IH London or another approved exam centre.
