Sehr gut ausgebildete Lehrer, gute Lernmaterialien.

Do you think you've made progress?

MONTPELLIER! What can I say about my stay in this big town? I have only good memories of it. The day I arrived and met my host family, who welcomed me like a member of family. The people from throughout the world that I met during the course, and all of the beautiful friendships that grew in such a short time. The classes in the mornings, which were never boring, and the brilliant teachers. The lunches with friends and the busy afternoons: sightseeing in Montpelier, beach, shopping, cinema, exploring the surrounding villages... and spending the evenings with friends, enjoying the nice city atmosphere with people from all over the world! Every Friday in summer, the city fills with people, who drink local wine and eat local specialties. It was an amazing experience which I hope to repeat. Awesome memories and friendships. A wonderful French-learning summer!

My name is Fabián and I came to Montpellier to learn French. I am very happy with the school (IEF): I am learning the language pretty fast and teachers are very professional. I met many people from all over the world; there is a good nationality mix! The school is in the heart of Montpellier: public transports are very convenient and the surroundings are full of bars and restaurants where I can have lunch. Montpellier offers many hotspots, such as the Arc de Triomphe, Place de l’Europe, the Botanical Gardens, Place de la Comédie, the historical centre and the mountain of Saint-Loup. I highly recommend visiting all these places! The city is full of tourists and young people – it’s been an unforgettable experience so far!

Learning French at the Institut Européen de Français was a great experience. I refreshed my French and got ready for my third Erasmus term. Classes are interactive and practical. Life in Montpellier is quiet, but – as it’s a student town – there is always something to do.

Host family
The best way to immerse yourself fully in the French language and culture is to live with a host family. Discover the ways and customs of the French from the inside and practise what you have learned in class in total immersion. Living around 10 to 20 minutes from the school, you will stay in a single room with half-board provided.

Shared apartment
Located around 10 to 20 minutes from the school, the apartments generally accommodate two to three students each. Each student has a single room and shares the kitchen, bathroom and living room with the others. This is an inexpensive option which will also allow you to meet other international students.

The school offers numerous cultural activities which will allow you to meet other foreign students whilst practising your French in a stimulating atmosphere. Delight your taste buds with the region's food and wines, broaden your mind with the wonders of the area's heritage, museums and surrounding scenery. Why not also discover the French culture through its films, theatre or even opera? All of these activities will help you develop your French in context.
