Belfast English summer camp (12-16)

(28/06/2026 – 25/07/2026)

Campbell College (est. 1894) is one of Northern Ireland’s most eminent schools. It occupies a 100-acre estate in east Belfast, close to the Parliament buildings at Stormont, complete with its own lake and forest! C.S. Lewis was a student there and the campus is said to have served as inspiration for his Narnia Chronicles. The campus is made up of five classrooms, a student lounge, cafeteria, and outdoor leisure facilities (only accessible with supervision). Each classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards and can accommodate up to 15 students per group — both classrooms and the residence are equipped with Wi-Fi. Classes follow a communicative approach, focusing on authentic language that students can use outside the classroom. Each week is theme-based to ensure consistency and continuity and to give students the opportunity to see new language in context. Themes (for example, ‘You and the Environment’, ‘Social Networking’, ‘We Are All Scientists’) are selected to appeal to the students’ interests and to provide engaging classes that increase motivation. Each week culminates in student presentations based on that week’s theme.
