The almost 3 months that I spent in Cape Town were simply incredible. I’m almost 30 and thought that I was a bit too old for these kinds of trips, but as days went by, I felt more and more comfortable. In the end, I didn’t want to come back home! Cape Town is an amazing city that offers all kinds of activities: beaches, mountains, jazz music, hip restaurants, markets… Wherever you look, there’s always something worth exploring. This experience allowed me to get away from the whirlwind of my home city, Madrid, and adopt an “African lifestyle”, where you forget about stress. Furthermore, I passed the CAE exam with a high grade, as I was lucky to have great teachers. Thank you, ESL, for your support throughout this experience.

From October to December, I took a 9-week Cambridge preparation course at the LAL School in Cape Town. We were only 3 students in our class and hence we fully took advantage of our classes. The school is very welcoming and even has a pool. The staff is very helpful and always in a good mood! Every Monday, the school organizes a barbecue in order for the new students to meet each other. The daily activities proposed by the school were all very nice. It’ impossible to get bored in Cape Town! In my opinion, this city has everything you need and all close: a nice city life, mountains, sea and many other attractions. I also think that Cape Town is not as dangerous as everyone seems to think. You just have to follow the security recommendations and you will have an exciting stay your stay in this beautiful city!

Cape Town is an amazing city with probably the most beautiful sunset in the the world. The landscapes are breathtaking and the climate allowed me to enjoy a lot of outdoor activities. People are very friendly and open-minded. I also learned a lot from the mix different cultures. Concerning the school, I attended a 3 months Cambridge course. My teacher was excellent and we were only 3 students in the class so the conditions to improve my English were optimal. I will never forget this experience and will go back to South Africa as soon as possible.

I spent 5 months at LAL school in Cape Town to improve my English and get the Cambridge First Certificate. I stayed at the school, which is ideally located in the Sea Point neighborhood; between oceans and mountains, between the city center and the beaches. The accent of the English spoken in Cape Town is easy to understand and I therefore made very quick progress. The teachers were all young, motivated and competent. It is also great to study in small groups (max. 8 students) with people of all nationalities (among them, not many French). There is a lot to do and see in Cape Town and its surroundings. Moreover, the climate is very nice and the low cost of life is very interesting compared to other destinations… In Cape Town, I never got bored and I thank ESL for guiding me and helping me find a school. This was, without a shadow of a doubt, an unforgettable trip!

Cape Town is really a mad place! I have never been somewhere more intense, colourful and surprising. As to the English lessons, there's nothing to say… Very well organised and the teachers are really accessible. You can do any sport which comes to mind here: parachuting, climbing, diving, golfing, surfing… The national parks are amazing, the parties in Cape Town extraordinary and there's always a sense of adventure... Don't hesitate to go there!
