With an excellent network of carefully selected host families, the school organises homestays for students. The hosts offer half-board or breakfast only and generally live around 30 minutes from the course centre (with a maximum distance of 60 minutes depending on the season). Staying in a single room, you will experience authentic Berlin life with locals, while enjoying some home comforts. Double room only available for students travelling together.
Shared apartment with local residents (WG, from 18 years)
Usually called a WG (Wohngemeinschaft), this is a very popular way for students and twenty-somethings to live in Germany. If you are looking for more independence, staying with one or several German people in the very heart of Berlin could be perfect for you. Sleeping in a single room, you will share the bathroom and kitchen with your flatmates. This kind of accommodation encourages you to discover Berlin on your own terms. Double room only available for students travelling together.
Shared apartment (Alpadia students only)
These fantastic apartments enjoy a central location either conveniently situated on the top floor of the school building or next to the Brandenburg Gate. The area is full of cafés, bars, restaurants and shops, and the apartments are within walking distance of several public transport options.
The apartments are to be shared by a maximum of five Alpadia students and are made up of three bedrooms (single and double), a shared bathroom, a kitchen and a dining area. Bedsheets and towels are provided, and there is free Wi-Fi in the common areas. In addition, laundry options are available on-site.
David Friedländer Haus residence (from 18 years old)
This comfortable, modern residence is located in Moabit, a central Berlin neighbourhood bordered by the Spree River and various canals near the Tiergarten. You’ll feel right at home in your en suite single room with its own kitchenette. In your room, you’ll find free bed sheets and towels, plus a desk, wardrobe, chair and lamp. The building boasts free Wi-Fi throughout, a rooftop terrace, covered bicycle parking, laundry facilities and a large common area with a TV and shared kitchen. School is just a 25-minute bus ride away!
