ZMP Exam Preparation courses
The ZMP is an advanced-level exam that requires a solid mastery of the German language. The ZMP corresponds to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Who is the ZMP (Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung) for?
The ZMP is for adults with an advanced language level. It certifies a good knowledge of standard German that allows for correct expression on numerous subjects both in written and spoken language and the ability to understand advanced level texts.
The ZD requires a good mastery of the German language: Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD) level or equivalent.
Candidates must have mastered standard German and be capable of independently understanding an authentic text of average difficulty and of expressing themselves correctly in both written and spoken German on complex subjects. The exam is recognised internationally and demands a solid general knowledge of German necessary for finding work.
What does the ZMP (Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung) involve?
The Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfund exam includes:
- 3 written comprehension tests
- a test for understanding a text
- a written exercise
- a listening test
- two speaking tests
The ZMP has an excellent international reputation and is recognised by employers as a guarantee of an advanced level of German.
In certain establishments of higher education, the ZMP allows foreign students wishing to undertake higher studies in Germany to dispense with the admission exam, as it certifies a sufficient knowledge of the German language.
