Day 1, Sunday:
Arrival on site (possibility to book a transfer at a charge). Meet your host family and in the afternoon, attend the presentation of the programme and the school staff. Welcome dinner in a restaurant on the beach of Pedregalejo.
Day 2, Monday:
In the morning, an evaluation test will determine your Spanish level, so you will be able to attend your first language class straight away. Then, your group will start the tour by visiting the Nerja Caves and the charming village of Frigiliana (walking tour, wine tasting and free time for lunch). In the afternoon, the visit will take you to the Alpujarras, a mountainous region on the south slope of Sierra Nevada. Night in a family-run hotel.
Day 3, Tuesday:
After a generous breakfast, you will go on a hike, walk through different mountain villages and stop for a picnic at lunchtime. After your daily Spanish classes, you will take a bus and go to the pueblo del jamón, in the Alpujarras region, famous for the quality of its ham. You will visit a cave and learn everything about ham production, from the farm to the shop… And to finish, an amazing ham tasting awaits you! In the evening, you will go back to the hotel and enjoy your free time.
Day 4, Wednesday:
It’s Alhambra day! After breakfast, you’ll be on your way to Granada, where you will visit the main attractions and enjoy the magic atmosphere. After a guided tour of the city, you will have some free time to have lunch. Then, you’ll visit the Alhambra, a magnificent fortress and palace where you will be able to see the unique combination of Moorish and Christian heritage. An amazing experience! Later in the afternoon, you will reach the white village of Antequera, where you will have dinner and spend the night in an 18th-century farm/hotel.
Day 5, Thursday:
After breakfast, your group will travel by bus through “El Torcal” natural park and explore the lush vegetation as well as the spectacular rock formations. You will have lunch in a typical restaurant and then attend your daily Spanish class. After a short break, it will be time to visit Antequera village and choose the restaurant you want to go to in the evening. Night in Antequera.
Day 6, Friday:
After breakfast and your daily language classes, you will leave Antequera and go back to your host family in Malaga: have lunch with them and use your newly acquired language knowledge to tell them about your trip! In the afternoon, you’ll visit an organic orange plantation and the guide will tell you everything about the “miracles” you can obtain exploiting resources naturally. In the shade of orange trees, you will attend an additional Spanish class – and then, the first workshop will start: learn how to make gazpacho! You will then go back to Malaga, where you’ll have to say goodbye to those students who only do a one-week tour. Night at the host family’s house.
Day 7, Saturday:
After breakfast, you’ll explore the mountainous region of El Chorro and its marvellous nature. After a picnic and your daily Spanish class, you will follow King Alfonso XIII’s footsteps and walk on the Caminito del Rey, a spectacular path made of vertiginous footbridges! After this stunning walk, you will travel by bus through the region of Axarquia and its white villages. Taste some local specialities – like the sweet wine! – and sleep in one of the amazing white villages. You’ll be free for dinner.
Day 8, Sunday:
In the morning, you will be surprised by a pleasant mix of scents: rosemary, lavender, pine, wild thyme and a multitude of other herbs fluttering in the air. After breakfast, you will attend your language classes. Then, discover the agricultural resources of this fertile region: avocado, mango and olive plantations stretch out along the vineyards… Visit one of the highest white villages on the Ruta de la Pasa, where the Moors’ footsteps are still very clear. Take your time to visit the village and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will go back to Malaga and have dinner in a typical restaurant, where you will meet some new students who will join the group for the second week.
Day 9, Monday:
Time for the beach, some sport and lots of relax! After breakfast, you will reach the beautiful beach of Tarifa. Choose among many optional activities: horse riding, mountain bike, yoga, kitesurf or paddle surf. The less sporty can simply relax on the beach! You can also hike in the nearby national park and walk on a path that offers spectacular views of the Atlantic. After a picnic on the beach, you will visit one of the most famous white villages: Vejer de la Frontera. Explore the village following once again the Moors’ footsteps and then choose a restaurant where to have dinner. You will spend the night in one of the charming villages in the Cadiz province.
Day 10, Tuesday:
The day is going to be intense! After your breakfast and Spanish classes, you will go back to Jerez de la Frontera and do a short walking tour around Alcazar and the cathedral. Then, you’ll visit Spain’s most famous wine cellar: the Bodega González Byass. You’ll see incredible things and taste some amazing tapas at the end of the visit. After lunch, you’ll reach Seville, the capital of Andalusia. Leave your luggage at the hotel, take a break and then attend your Spanish classes. To mark the end of this special day, you will be invited to a Flamenco show. After that, you’ll be free to have dinner wherever you prefer and go back to the hotel.
Day 11, Wednesday:
Fancy a bike tour? After having some breakfast at the hotel, your group will discover Seville’s treasures on two wheels! After the tour, you’ll have time to explore the heart of the city and have lunch. Then, you’ll attend your daily Spanish classes at the hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll stop by one of the characteristic white villages on your way to Ronda; you’ll sleep in a finca, surrounded by an exceptional natural environment! After checking into your room, you will attend a Spanish class. The day will end with a nice wood-fired BBQ!
Day 12, Thursday:
Be ready for a day in the nature! After having breakfast at the farm, you will walk around and discover local animals. The “cheese manufacturing” workshop will teach you how goat cheese is made. The group will have lunch at the farm and visit Ronda in the afternoon. The Tajo River, the breathtaking views from the bridge, the historic centre… You’ll love it. In the evening, you can have dinner in Ronda – and then go to the beach and contemplate the cliffs in the moonlight! Night at the farm.
Day 13, Friday:
The Spanish class will be at the hotel, after breakfast. You will then leave Ronda and go hiking on the Ruta de los Viajeros Románticos (the path of romantic travellers) – an unforgettable experience! Then, you’ll visit Benalauria, the last village of your Andalusian tour. You will have time to walk around and have lunch. Don’t miss the fascinating ruins of the Gaucin castle and the splendid view of the valley. You will then go back to Malaga by bus, where your host family will be waiting for you. The tour ends with a ceremony, where each student will receive a certificate, and a closing dinner.
Day 14, Saturday:
All good things come to an end, and you have reached the end of this beautiful adventure. Take with you unforgettable memories of Andalusia and the addresses of your new international friends… along with solid Spanish skills and an in-depth knowledge of Spanish culture. What more could you ask for?
