Host family

ESL host family accommodation japan

The best way to fully immerse yourself in the Japanese language and culture is to live with a local host family. All our host families are no more than 60 minutes from the school by public transport, with an average journey of around 45 minutes. You'll be placed in a single room with bed linen provided—we recommend bringing your own towels as these are not always supplied. Wi-Fi is included, and you'll have free use of the laundry facilities. Each day you'll enjoy a home-made breakfast and dinner prepared by your hosts, giving you a true taste of daily Japanese life. This is the perfect option for students looking to go beyond the classroom and experience Japan from the inside out.

Private Apartment (ages 18 and over)

ESL-shared-appartment-accommodation-4

A private apartment is a great base from which to explore a new city, with independence and privacy. Each apartment is for a single student and comes with an en-suite bathroom, a bed, a clothes rack, a small desk, and a fully equipped kitchen, giving you everything you need to settle in and live like a true Nagoya local. Bed linen is provided, though we recommend bringing your own towels. Wi-Fi is included, and laundry facilities are either available within the apartment or nearby at an additional cost. All ten apartments are available year-round, located between 30 and 50 minutes from school by public transport, and surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores

Leisure

Nagoya offers students a fantastic mix of cultural experiences and social activities both in and out of school. On campus, students can enjoy free movie nights on the big screen, free Japanese game nights, learning traditional games like hanafuda, and lively Friday parties to unwind at the end of the week for an additional cost. Off campus, there are a variety of activities for you to embrace the city's culture at an additional cost. There is street stall dining where you can sample local Nagoya specialities, karaoke competitions with fellow students, and the unforgettable experience of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. For something truly relaxing, a trip to a local onsen hot spring is a must, with entry at just 5 euros.
