Located in the beautiful centre of Queenstown, close to shops, banks, parks, cafés and restaurants, our partner school, which is deliberately small in size, offers students optimal learning conditions with a notably high quality teaching staff. There are 13 spacious classrooms and a common room with a kitchenette and a ping-pong table. In the same building as the school, the students can also enjoy free Wi-Fi and benefit from discounts for the Queenstown Gym and the Discovery Lodge. Discover the English language against the gorgeous backdrop of New Zealand!

Our partner school reopened on 18/05/2020.

SLEC, Queenstown
Duration: 12 weeks

These 3 months were really amazing. The students at Southern Lakes English College were incredibly friendly and I made friends with many people with whom I would like to keep in touch after my 3 months here. Queenstown is a great place, offering varied activities like Bungee Jumping, Skydiving, etc. and the town is surrounded by beautiful landscapes with mountains, lakes and forests… it is truly beautiful. Party lovers will not be disappointed. Queenstown has a very busy nightlife because there are many tourists and young students here. So – what else can I say? I fell in love with Queenstown and I know I will go back there.

The organisation of my trip by ESL was just perfect. Unfortunately, on the way to Queenstown, I missed my connecting flight from Auckland to Queenstown because my flight was late and there was too little time (only a half hour) to go through customs and then go to the other airport to catch my flight. This is why I spent my first night in Auckland.

I spent 12 amazing weeks. Between the inevitable trips with my friends and those organised by the school, I was always very busy! To say that the teachers are brilliant is an understatement. Special thanks to Shelley, my favourite. People are welcoming, and if you are rather shy like me, you will soon change. I am coming back with plenty of images in my head, new friends and a much more advanced level of English. I would be surprised if you don’t feel sad at the idea of leaving such a great place. This is where I found peace of mind.
