Living with a host family in Cologne will allow you to discover the daily life of its locals. You will have a private, single room with access to common areas such as the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. You will have a choice of breakfast only or half-board. The families, carefully selected by our partner school, live within a radius of 30 minutes by public transport of the school.
Shared apartment (from 18 years)
This form of shared accommodation, called a WG (Wohngemeinschaft), is very popular in Germany. You will share an apartment with permanent residents of Cologne and have a private, single room. In the apartment, the bathroom, kitchen and common areas will be shared with your flatmates. You will be able to use the washing machine in the laundry room.
Every week, our partner school proposes a complete programme of activities. Historic walking tours, film screenings and plays will immerse you in the fashionable atmosphere of Cologne and help you master the language. You will also have the opportunity to go on short boat rides on the Rhine or cycling tours along the riverbanks. If you're a night owl, you'll love the outings organised by the school to clubs and other trendy hotspots. Themed lectures and barbecues at the school will allow you to meet the other international students. Departing from Cologne, cities like Bonn, Koblenz, Frankfurt or Düsseldorf can be easily visited in a day.
