If you are of Swiss or European nationality, no visa is necessary to participate in the programme, insofar as you are in possession of a valid biometric passport which is valid for at least six months following your return date, in accordance with current legislation. Nevertheless, students need to get an electronic travel authorisation, to be completed online a minimum of one week prior to departure (credit card necessary to pay for US administration file handling fees). Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
New York is a great destination for a language study trip abroad. However, you must know that the journey to get there is relatively long with, generally, one stopover, depending on which city you are flying from. Most airline companies will be able to offer you an accompaniment service; therefore do not hesitate to contact us for further information. It is necessary, however, that the student feels capable of managing this long journey. Then, all he/she has left to do is to enjoy American life!

Just a short bus ride from the school, stay in a comfortable campus residence and enjoy your American student life to the fullest, with everything close at hand. Students stay in single or twin rooms (subject to availability) and share the bathroom with either one or three other young participants of the same gender. Bed linen and towels are provided. Classes and meals take place at the prestigious Barnard College. On weekdays, you'll have breakfast and lunch in the language school cafeteria, while you’ll have dinner at the residence. At weekends, all meals will be taken in the residence except when you receive a packed lunch for full day excursions. In the residence, make the most of the common rooms to relax, play cards or chat with the other participants. 24-hour supervision is provided by the school staff, who also stay in the residence, and there is a security guard at night.
The school organises varied activities daily which range from orienteering races to karaoke nights and talent shows, allowing you to enjoy nice afternoons and evenings on campus together with the other international students. You will be expertly supervised by the experienced school’s staff during your New York outings. Guided excursions will take you to discover the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, Macy’s department store, Central Park, Ellis Island and the Natural History Museum. A visit to Wall Street, as well as a shopping trip to Soho or a pizza evening in Little Italy are also scheduled. Other activities include a trip to the Rockefeller Centre, 5th Avenue and Times Square. On Sundays, you will be able to relax with your friends on campus or take part in optional activities. You will return home with hundreds of pictures and memories of a lifetime!
