Destination: Sidney. Apprehension and excitement. I sadly said goodbye to my family and friends and I keep asking myself: “What I am doing on this plane? Will I resist there for 6 months? Is this a good decision?”. Today, my answer is definitely YES! Thirty hours later, when I saw one of the best views of Sidney (Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge), I knew that I had made the right choice and that I was about to live one of the best experiences of my life. Apart from learning English (which I speak fluently now), this has been an incredible human experience. I spent 6 amazing months in Manly and I was lucky enough to have the best host family ever! Despite a few tiny issues such as health problems, homesickness or practical issue that happen when you cross Australia from north to south, I can only recommend this destination; take the risk and find yourself! 09.07.11: Destination: Geneva, Switzerland. This time, sad tears go down my cheeks because I don’t want to leave my Australian family and this beautiful country. Despite the difficult goodbyes, I certainly am much happier than a year ago and I cannot wait to travel again and discover new places.
