What ages can attend an English summer camp abroad?

Our English summer camps abroad are aimed at younger learners to enjoy time abroad, learn a language, and make friends in a safe and supervised environment. We offer this experience to young learners aged 8-17. Our partner schools group students in classes based on their age and level, so your child will be able to enjoy their classes and make friends amongst like-minded students.

For 16 to 25-year-old students who are looking for the structure and all-inclusive package of a summer programme, with more free time and independence, then you can get the best of both worlds in our Young Adults programme.

What is included in the price?

We understand the stress of sending your child abroad. There are so many details to work out, from accommodation and meals to the course itself and extra-curricular activities.
That’s why our schools all offer a variety of packages in order to include as much as possible for you to rest easy while your child has the time of their life. Course packages can include accommodation, meals, activities, additional tours, and even flights, depending on the school you choose.

How many hours of English lessons will my child receive, and what level is required?

With ESL, there are plenty of different options for our English summer camps abroad, each of which has a different number of hours. Our general courses are offered across 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week, or 15 lessons of 1 hour per week. We also have intensive courses that have around 25 sessions of 45 minutes each. Lessons are split into shorter, digestible sessions with smaller class sizes and engaging teaching methods to allow for younger learners to enjoy their time in the classroom.
Each of our schools offers courses for beginners and advanced speakers alike, with a placement test before arrival to ensure your child is placed in the right class, so they can participate in their English programme, no matter their level.

How safe are the camps, and what supervision ratio is provided?

The safety of our students is our top priority, and you’ll see this priority reflected in each of our schools. Our criteria for selecting partner schools involve making sure the school and the accommodation options are in safe neighbourhoods and offer adequate care for younger students. All of our language camps abroad offer 24/7 supervision in both lessons and in their accommodation.
Even though our programmes include many varied activities, students have some free time to rest or spend time together playing games or just hanging out. For younger learners, free time is usually spent on campus under the supervision of activity leaders. Excursions to the city may include periods during which the students are allowed to roam freely, while supervisors provide regular meeting points in order to check in and ensure all students are safe and happy.

Do you offer airport transfers, and how does arrival/departure work?

Transfers are legally compulsory for students under 18 years old, unless an adult brings them to the school at the beginning of the programme and picks them up at the end of their stay. Most of our schools offer an airport transfer service, either included in the price or as an optional supplement. Please contact us, and our team will assist you in organising this service.
