San Diego is one of the best cities in California! The sun is always shining, and despite its location in a very dry region, the city is green and full of palms! A well-being, Californian-style oasis. I stayed in Pacific Beach and I was close to many surf beaches, with lots of bars and restaurants where I could enjoy a cocktail facing the sunset on Ocean Pacific. It was a dream!

I really enjoyed EC San Diego because, the teachers helped me to improve my speaking and writing skills in english. I can express almost all of my ideas in english easily! I like the culture in the United States and discovered how to celebrate the 4th of July! The most exiting thing I have done in San Diego is sky diving, which is cheaper than in Switzerland! I lived in Bay pointe apartment, close to the school and I also got to know other american people, who always appreciated that you try to learn their language!

Hello my name is Cindy Cuany, and I am currently a student at EC San Diego in the Cambridge FCE program. I am at the High Intermediate level now, but will hopefully move to the Upper Intermediate level when I finish this course. The course has helped me improve my conversational English skills, and I have also learned about English grammar and understand it better after being here. The best parts about learning English in San Diego have really been my classes at EC. They are always filled with different kinds of people this way I get to know more about other countries and cultures. I also love living with my host family. They have been wonderful towards me during my stay and have made me feel comfortable. The most exciting thing I have done in San Diego the area is going to the local Zoo (elephants!) and to Balboa Park with my friends. New students coming to San Diego should be willing to try new things and take advantage of all the activities available. They should do trips, go to the beach, and sign up for EC events. After this experience I plan to return to Switzerland and look for a new job or a new school program. I think that I would like to try becoming a translator in Switzerland between English and French. The school has definitely helped me feel much more comfortable about my English language skills.

My name is Jan Espiga Kun. A friend mentioned to me about the school and later an agent helped me. I am very happy with the decision. I studied General English at EC San Diego for 6 weeks and feel like my level of English has improved, but I know my mother will tell me what she thinks when I get home. The teachers here at EC San Diego are very good and I was very happy to be with such great classmates. One of the most exciting things to do in San Diego is surfing! The weather is perfect and so is the location of the school. If you do not make it to Mexico, no problem, San Diego has many restaurants that have such great Mexican food. I suggest that students try it. After EC San Diego I will return to Spain and finish my degree. I will keep practicing my English.

My name is Coralie and I am from Geneva, Switzerland. I found about EC through my agent ESL. I am happy at EC San Diego because they are more disciplined than other language schools that my friends told me about. I enjoy my classes here especially with Teacher Tamara and Jeff. They are very funny and I like the way they teach. My speaking has definitely improved and I plan on continuing to practice speaking English only even after I get back home. People here are very nice and so far I have made many friends. I really like my host family. They are nice and take good care of me. I also like the location of the school because it is close to the beach. During my free time I enjoy shopping, going to the beach, travelling and hanging out with my friends. I had an opportunity to travel to San Francisco, Santa Monica, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, which I really enjoyed. I would suggest to new students to study and also travel.

ESL told me about EC and I really liked it here because the mood was very good. There was also a lot to do and the staff was friendly. The best part about learning English here at EC San Diego was the friends I made and the fact that you can improve your English skills and have fun at the same time.

Here in San Diego there is a lot to do like go to clubs, house parties, but the most exciting thing I did was take a trip to San Francisco with my friends. The city is beautiful but cold. There is also the paintball activity that I participated in. Teachers Jerrod and Cosmo were our paintball captains and it was awesome!”

I would suggest to new students not to be afraid to do some activities with the teachers. They also give good advice. After EC I am going back to Switzerland where I am going to work in a marketing company as a manager. Thank you EC and ESL.

I found out about EC San Diego thanks to ESL in Switzerland. Even though I was here for less than one month, I have learnt and done a lot. My level of English is now upper intermediate. I definitely feel like my speaking skills have improved and I know this will help me when I go back home to my job.

The best part about learning English here at EC San Diego is all the speaking that we did during the class and the activities organized by EC. I got a chance to visit Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. Locally I went to Balboa Park, Coronado, Gaslamp and the beaches. Everything is so beautiful here and everyone is so helpful, not only at school but also on the bus and everywhere you go. I really would love to stay for more time in order to visit San Francisco, Los Angeles and other places in the USA but unfortunately I have to go back to my job.

I have been in San Diego for 4 months to study General English and now to get the Cambridge Certificate. I chose San Diego because of the nice weather and also because a lot of my friends are here. It is not as cold here like it is in Switzerland. I like EC San Diego because the teachers are great and everyone I have met. I will talk to my other friends in Switzerland and tell them about EC San Diego if they are interested in learning English.

What I like most is the atmosphere at the school. Everyone is very friendly, especially the teachers who are very helpful. I like the spirit. It’s very free. I feel very comfortable in my class. I know I have improved a lot since I started here. The teachers do the best they can.

I have so many memories but the Halloween party was very nice. I had a really good time. I also think it’s very good that the school organizes activities because I got to go skydiving. I think without the school I wouldn’t have done that. Because of the school, I had this opportunity. I have also met a lot of people that I know I will miss a lot.

The tips I would give is that you don’t have to be shy and you should relax and enjoy as much as possible. It’s a very nice experience to meet people from all around the world. Share the moments and free time with all the students. Be very open-minded.

I chose to study here because I wanted to study in America. At first, I didn’t know if I wanted to go to San Francisco or here, but I chose San Diego because of the weather. It is a very good location.

San Diego is a very diverse city. On one side, you have Downtown and its buildings standing alongside the “Gaslamp Quarter”, with all the beautiful boutiques and cupcakes shops! It’s the city centre, where you can go out at night or take a boat to visit Coronado. On the other side, you have Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla! The first one is a hippy area where you can spend the night on the beach around a bonfire, singing “No Woman No Cry” with amazing strangers! The second one is a more residential neighborhood, but it’s incredible! The very long beach and the shops on Garnet and Grand Avenue were my “head quarter” for a month. As for La Jolla, I loved the atmosphere and a beautiful cove next to the resting sea lions, a few minutes from the school. This trip was unforgettable not only because San Diego is a city full of surprises, but also thanks to the warm people at school – both teachers and students!

I really liked EC San Diego because the school’s location is incredible, being located right next to the sea and you can reach two of the most beautiful beaches of San Diego in 10 minutes. The school is really well organized and all the staff are very friendly, competent and professional. Furthermore, most of the teachers are young but very knowledgeable which allows a good cooperation with the students and creates perfect learning conditions. Finally, a lot of diverse activities are prepared by the staff throughout the whole week which are really useful to meet new students and to discover the city. San Diego is an incredible city which can be described by these two words: friendly and easy-going!
