British School Centre was an incredible experience. The centre is very well-kept, the staff are so kind and friendly from the director to the kitchen crew that they make you feel right at home, and the classmates are very friendly and welcome you right away. If I could do it all over again, I would go back there without a doubt!

Thank you for everything!!!!! It was a pleasure!!!

My 3-week stay in Brighton was great. I studied at BSC and can only say good things about the teachers and the rest of the staff. Everyone was friendly and willing to help.

Brighton is a very comfortable city, vibrant and perfect for students. There are lots of places to visit, as well as pubs and stores. You can meet people from all around the world, which is very enriching. Besides, London (which I also love) is not far away!

It’s a beautiful town with a lot of friendly people. Not too dangerous, this town is crowded of students and it’s really nice to live here ! An advice to give : be careful of the seagulls ! The school is really good, all the people who work there are really nice. The courses are interesting and I learned a lot ! Thank you British Study Centres ! I also met a lot of great students from different countries and I intend to keep in touch with them ! I think it’s not enough to come here less than 3 months ; in 2-3 weeks or 1 month, you can’t learn a lot… I think it’s an amazing experience of life, and this allows to meet new people, to learn a language that most of the world knows. Brighton is a town of students and I hope it will stay like this !

What can I say? Brighton was grand in every sense! My host family were lovely to me from the very first minute and they took great care of me: they always asked if I liked to food, if I needed to do laundry… Anything I needed, they would offer. The parents were charming and we would spend quite a lot of time chatting about different subjects over a cup of tea. Their daughters were very nice too. We “clicked” from the moment we met and I miss them now. I miss the whole family! As to their home, it was perfect: I had my own bathroom and a large bedroom.

I attended English lessons every weekday morning and on some afternoons. I took an FCE preparation course. My teachers were pretty good; they were attentive and prepared exercises and games so we could improve. They also made sure that we all got to know each other and that the group dynamics were good. The classrooms weren’t huge, but they were pretty cosy and the premises of the school in general were great. Furthermore, the school organised activities every week – some were free and others were available at an extra charge. I participated in a few, which I really enjoyed: some were trips (to places like London) and others were more social activities, like football matches with other students. My main goal was to pass the FCE test, but during my time in Brighton I also met a lot of new people from different countries, I improved my English a lot and spent an unforgettable month. It was an amazing experience that I would like to repeat some day. I recommend it to everyone who enjoys travelling!

Brighton is a very beautiful city by the sea, one hour away by train from London and one hour away by bus from the superb natural park surrounded by cliffs: the Seven Sisters. People in this city are very friendly and there is a young atmosphere. There are a lot of wonderful things to visit during the day and at night you can choose between many clubs and pubs of all kinds.

The school where I studied, British Study Centres, is excellent. The teachers are very efficient and pleasant, just like the staff. Every week the school organizes very interesting activities and trips to the surrounding cities are offered at good prices.

At first, I met a few French speakers but I made the effort to speak English. Then, later I had the chance to meet people from all over the world. That was a great experience.

My name is Petra and I am from Switzerland. I’d been studying English at British Study Centres Brighton for 6 weeks. In my second week I joined the Job Club at school to get some information about working in Brighton. Honestly the school staff was perfectly helpful. They looked through my CV and gave me some helpful tips on how to get a job. They also gave me individual help and support and made me feel that I had someone to talk to so I felt very comfortable. I chose Brighton because I like the charm of cities that have a village spirit. Indeed, by strolling through Brighton one has the feeling of walking in a doll town, as everything is lovely and colorful. I liked the alternative scene and the many second hand stores. This city manages to be relaxing without being boring: museums, pubs, stores, concerts, walks on the edge of the Seven Sisters cliffs… there is a lot to enjoy. The BSC school is very welcoming, full of smiling teachers, you always feel cared for. I would have loved to stay longer.

What can be said about Brighton, apart from the fact that you never get bored of it? I am in love with this city. I’ve gone on two language stays and both took place in Brighton. We are in England but without really being there. It’s a beautiful, young and dynamic city located by the sea and is very well known for Brighton Pier. People there are lovely and you find wonderful traditional English pubs. I strongly recommend this city for a language stay in England. BSC is an excellent school where the teachers are very competent and listen to the needs of the students. It is big and located close to the sea and the city centre. It is spacious and well equipped. The cafeteria is big and the food is good. It also has a big and beautiful garden. ESL is for me the best agency to organize language stays. I traveled twice with this agency and if I had to I would go another thousand times. Besides, I am already thinking about my next language stay and I will contact ESL for sure. The LTCs are more than competent. They take the time to listen to you and to find the alternative that suits you the most. I always had a good relationship with them and my language stays always went well. For this reason I would never want to ask another agency for advice.

Before finishing my studies and entering the working life, I decided to go abroad to improve my English. I have lived in Brighton for 5 months in total immersion in a pleasant and dynamic setting. I chose the accommodation in a Student House, which will remain an unforgettable experience, not only from a human point of view but also for my English. I met students from everywhere, to whom I became attached, who became friends and who visited me in Paris. You can find students you can talk to and exchange ideas with in English at any moment in the Student House. Moreover, the “intensive course” allowed me to combine the classes with leisure, with my mornings being spent at the school and three free afternoons per week dedicated to the discovery of England and the activities organized by the school. This experience brought me a lot from the humane point of view as well as professionally. Indeed, I also had the opportunity to do a two-month internship in an English company in the marketing department, a subject I am currently studying in France. I was thus able to interact with English people and professionals to improve my oral understanding and my speaking. In my opinion such an experience cannot really be explained with words, it only deserves to be lived to realize exactly what you live.

Brighton is a beautiful town that attracts me most of all because of its location by the sea and its proximity to London. The city is full of possibilities, there is something for everyone. ESL’s support and organization made my language stay in Brighton very easy. The choice of the school was right as the teachers are very committed and helpful. Moreover, the school offers a very varied leisure programme. I would make another language stay in Brighton with ESL at BSC without hesitation.

I really like the school. The level of my class is perfect and I learned so much these past 4 weeks that I was able to change and go to the next level. The teaching is well structured and it’s easy to follow. The teachers, as well as the other employees of the school, are very helpful and always friendly. My worries regarding my age were groundless. Here, all age categories and all nations meet. My host family, or rather the mother of my host family, is very nice. I can wash my laundry here and even use the cooker. My room is small but I have everything I need – desk, bed, wardrobe and even a TV and a DVD player only for me. The school is round the corner and to get to the sea you only have to walk a few meters. There are several bus lines stopping right by my door. And, since my internship will take place nearby, I can stay at her place until the end of my stay. Brighton is just beautiful. There is a nice beach (unfortunately it’s a pebble not a sand beach), many stores and a lot of extravagant boutiques. From Brighton, you can make excursions and it takes 50 minutes by train to get to London, As you can see, I am very pleased with everything. I feel good and I fully enjoy my free time in Brighton.

I am in Brighton at the moment and I am following a Cambridge Certificate preparation course. I can only say that everything is ok for me. I am extremely comfortable in my class and I hope to get an A or a B at the exam. We’ll see! My host family is wonderful, both parents are young thirty-something schoolteachers, our relationship is very laid-back. They have a very cute two-year-old son who gladly plays with me. The students in my class are great and we go out partying a lot. Moreover, I already made a lot of excursions in the area. All I can say is that I am happy I made this decision!

The school is a reflection of Brighton: small, friendly and dynamic. The school implements on a daily basis an effective integration system in which everyone finds their place, whatever their level of English. This school is also one of the few that offers “Student Houses” that allow to find a new family at an international scale. Personally, I am going to extend my international experience with ESL with a stay in Barcelona.

My stay in Brighton helped me to make a lot to make progress and to express myself in English. My two months of classes were intensive. One or two extra months would probably have been more conclusive at my level. Choosing a host family is a plus to make language as well as cultural progress. I ‘d like to thank ESL for this wonderful experience!

In August I spent four weeks in Brighton to attend the CAE course. Brighton is a very nice city to live in and offers you a lot of different things. You can go clubbing, shopping, swimming, having fun with your new friends or take trips to various places in its surrounding area, for example to Seven Sisters. I chose British Study Centres because only there could I do the CAE course in the four weeks of august. It was absolutely the right decision! The atmosphere in the school is easy going and cosmopolitan, so it isn’t difficult at all to feel at home there, and the garden is a perfect place to spend your breaks in. The teachers did their very best to prepare us for the exam and we had a lot of fun. During the four weeks I stayed in a student house. I liked to live there because it was an interesting and exiting experience to have something to do with different people from various countries.

Brighton is a beautiful city, next to the sea and the students are often happy to go out to the nightclubs, cinema, pubs, restaurants or fast food restaurants. One of the first things you should try is swimming in the sea! The school is good because there are different types of accommodation. If you are not sure, you can contact ESL and choose between a student house and a host family. It depends on you, whether you are really independent and like living with a lot of people of different nationalities. There are a lot of different nationalities in the school and you can speak with them only in English.
